Combining over 40 years of Focal's expertise in driver design with two decades of innovation in studio-monitor development, the Focal Utopia Main 112 3-Way Studio Monitor delivers exceptional clarity and precision—even at high SPL—in medium-sized control rooms. Featuring a single bass driver, single midrange driver, and a beryllium tweeter, alongside top-of-the-range cabinet design and exceptional power, it provides an unparalleled monitoring experience for reference recording, mixing, and mastering.
This bundle includes two Utopia Main 112 monitors (L/R) with matched tweeters and midrange drivers, two Focal external amplifiers, and speakON cables.
This unique geometry enables the diaphragm to move in a perfect pistonic motion, generating a strong planar waveform and delivering an exceptionally stable phantom center image. The result is exceptional transient reproduction with absolute clarity, free from listening fatigue.
The MDF cabinet, reinforced with a specialized bracing network, eliminates structural resonance and warping. The result is a deep, powerful, and immersive low-frequency experience.
Working in tandem with analog filtering, these amplifiers achieve one of the lowest measured harmonic distortion (THD) in an anechoic chamber—setting a new standard for high-fidelity monitoring.
Specifications for Each Amplifier:
- High-frequency amp: 90W RMS Class H
- Midrange amp: 180W RMS Class H
- Low-frequency amp: 500W RMS Class D
- 2 Utopia Main 112 3-way speakers (L/R)—with matched tweeters and midrange drivers.
- 2 external amplifiers with speakON cables
- All-new M-shaped W membrane midrange driver: extreme rigidity due to its shape and material, with a powerful magnet, to ensure a precise midrange with no resonance and very-low distortion.
- 1.5" M-shaped Beryllium tweeter: including the Tuned Mass Damper and Infinite Acoustic Loading technologies to improve stiffness and rigidity for excellent transient response with minimum distortion—causing less listening fatigue
- Current Mode amplification: the most natural way to amplify a driver, achieving the lowest THD levels ever measured. Controlling the current instead of voltage means directly controlling the force on the driver, positively impacting its response while removing unwanted artifacts.
- Port plug accessory for either precision (sealed) or more energetic bass (ported) are available separately.
- On-site fine-tuning using the amplifier’s feature board: 2 PEQs, volume trims for each driver, low-shelf, high-shelf, soffit compensation filter, port compensation filter (sealed or ported), front LED deactivation, standby mode deactivation, and more.
- Massive cabinet using 30mm thick MDF panels, reinforced with a bracing network cleverly designed to remove any warping, reduces quarter-wavelength resonance while maintaining precision even at the highest SPL.
- Two optimized laminar ports: improve air flow and eliminate port noises.
- The monitors can be soffit-mounted or used freestanding.
- Handcrafted in France.
