It's Time to Make a Comeback
Appreciated by image creators from diverse backgrounds, the Westcott Ice series was developed by Jerry Ghionis, a renowned wedding and portrait photographer who thought of the best way to give on-the-go shooters a simple, intuitive, and reliable way to light up their on-location productions. The original Ice Light and the following Ice Light 2 were used by photographers and videographers for portraits, weddings, product shots, interviews, video performances, and many other on-location or studio setups. With the Ice Light 3, it will be no different. But this time, it has been developed to offer cinematic RGB and a natural bi-color punch with more capability than its previous versions.
Full RGBWW Color Control
Designed with full color control for creative lighting, the Ice Light 3 RGB opens up to millions of color variations with RGB and HSI modes and a CCT that's variable from 2700 to 6500K. The RGB mode allows you to customize hues with adjustable red, green, and blue channels, while the HSI one can expand the color spectrum with precise hue, saturation, and intensity control. Fine-tune dimming from 0 to 100% is available to take you exactly where needed in terms of intensity. Another feature of the Ice Light 3 RGB version is the convenience of +/-50 green/magenta shift for further color precision.
Studio-Quality Lighting
Achieve a soft output without giving up brightness. The Ice Light 3 has a flattering quality of light with up to 600 lux at 3.3' to cover various video and photo scenarios. Like its predecessor, the Ice Light 3's LED technology makes it virtually heat-free, so you can hold it close to your subject if necessary. The fixture's seamless diffusion helps eliminate LED hotspots, creating soft lighting that enhances skin tones and provides a natural-looking light. Numbers are needed to demonstrate the Ice Light 3 color accuracy. CRI, TLCI, and SSI ratings of 98, 99, and 87 are known indicators of faithful color rendering, and they exceed the numbers of the previous Ice Light 2.
Creative FX
The Ice Light 3 RGB features a built-in FX mode for 22 customizable lighting effects, including the popular fireworks, lightning, TV, police car, and many others. Not only are these lighting effects available, but there is also a wide range of 40 color gels to expand your creativity and add more flavor to your visual creation. These practical effects and different colors allow you to emulate specific looks that can otherwise be difficult to recreate.

Onboard & App Control
A built-in OLED screen offers a full color display with a simple and intuitive menu, with local buttons providing adjustments to your lighting settings. The free Westcott StudioLink app for iOS and Android also enables control and firmware updates right from your smartphone via Bluetooth. Wireless control unlocks advanced capabilities, such as saving different scenes, grouping multiple Ice Light 3 and L series LEDs, and remote setting adjustments for overhead hair lighting or streaming. Other highlights are the fixture's blackout mode, which has the ability to turn off the display for light painting long exposure applications, and a standby mode that powers off the light while keeping the display active.
AC Power & Battery Grip
This version of the Ice Light 3 can run off the included AC adapter and 16' long USB-C cable or use the conveniently included battery grip. Designed for all types of operation, this kit was put together by Westcott for those who need to keep the Ice Light 3 shining on the go. The included Ice Light 3 battery grip operates the light in any location, regardless of power availability. It will give you up to 1.5 hours of runtime at full power or up to three hours at 50%. The battery grip fully recharges in two hours, supporting USB-C trickle charging to power other devices on set. Other power options include optional power banks or V-mount batteries for more flexibility, depending on your requirements.
Silent Operation
The fixture is flicker-free up to 4000 fps for high-speed video applications and runs quiet thanks to its passive cooling. This means the Ice Light 3 can be placed in sound-sensitive environments for video recording and live production, such as interviews and streaming setups. Whether handheld, mounted, or stowed out of sight, the Ice Light 3 is a silent, fun, and versatile LED. 9 Integrated Mounting Points
The Ice Light 3 was developed to deliver mounting options that surpass the characteristics of the previous Ice Light 2. From handheld to mounted, the Ice Light 3 integrates seamlessly into any lighting setup by providing nine secure mounting points.
- A NATO rail provides quick and secure attachment to camera cages, knuckles, and rigging gear
- Two 1/4"-20 threads are located on both ends of the fixture, and four are placed on the spine of the light for mounting on optional tripods and brackets
- Two anti-twist 3/8"-16 threads are located on the spine of the Ice Light 3 to provide greater stability on optional stands and grip setups
Precision Barndoors
Use the included barndoors to direct the light where you want it to go. This modifier improves control in any lighting setup while limiting spill light. These slide-and-lock barndoors provide light-shaping precision when directing, focusing, or feathering your light. They easily attach to the Ice Light 3 thanks to the intuitive slide-in design.
Travel Ready
At only 1 lb alone, users can create their own kit with two or more Ice Light 3 units without it being a burden to carry around. This particular kit holds a single Ice Light 3 fixture with a 1.5' length (without the battery grip) or a total of 2.1' (with the battery grip), plus an AC power adapter, a 16' long USB-C cable, barndoors, and a robust case for storage and transportation with safety. The included hard-shell case fits the light and its accessories, featuring a removable shoulder strap and exterior ones for attaching a separately available compact light stand. Carry the case over your shoulder, and you will hardly know it is there.
