Ubiquiti Dream Router 7 Overview

Secure and manage your business's network with the Dream Router 7 from Ubiquiti Networks. This desktop appliance combines a 10G cloud gateway, Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) support, and PoE switch functionality into a single device.

Supporting over 300 UniFi managed clients, the Dream Router 7's gateway features both a 2.5G RJ45 port alongside a 10G SFP+ fiber WAN port, supporting up to 2.3 Gb/s IDS/IPS gateway throughput. There are also three 2.5G RJ45 LAN ports, one of which can provide 15.4W of power to PoE compatible devices. The integrated tri-band Wi-Fi 7 router can transfer up to 10.6 Gb/s over the 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz frequencies with compatible devices, supporting about 1750 square feet of coverage. A preinstalled 64GB microSD card works with NVR functionality, supporting management for up to five separately purchased HD cameras, two 2K cameras, or one 4K camera. View the status of your devices with the convenient 0.96" LCM display. The Dream Router 7 features full support for the UniFi application.

The Dream Router 7 replaced my aging Airport Extreme and also my main Verizon router. Paired with a U6 Mesh access point and Flex Mini switches it is a whole house solution. I was able to set this up in just a few minutes after a lot of research before taking the plunge. Once up and running, tweaking the system to create VLANS and connect devices took more time but went completely smoothly. The control panel web interface and iPhone/iPad apps are well designed and provide amazing visibility into your network (even when away from the house), and also makes any changes a breeze. So far I have 100% uptime, no dropped devices, and roaming to connect across the router and access point keeps devices at maximum speed at all times. Overall, range and speeds are incredible. I would recommend researching YouTube video tutorials if you are considering a Ubiquity network since there are many options for gateways, access points, switches, and how to build a better home network. B&H also makes purchasing a breeze and free shipping is a fantastic bonus! Fun "nerdy" project too.

Yes, the Ubiquiti Dream Router 7 BH #UBUDR7US does require a modem. The Ubiquiti UCI Multi-Gigabit Rack-Mountable Cable Modem BH # UBUCI is a compatible option.
