Magnus Wireless LANC Controller for Sony, Canon & Select Panasonic Cameras

Trigger the start/stop functions on your camera and control zoom, focus, and iris settings with this Wireless LANC Controller for Sony, Canon & Select Panasonic Cameras from Magnus. Boasting a pressure-sensitive rocker that facilitates stable video capture while performing smooth zooming to achieve dynamic telephoto and wide-angle shots, the controller easily mounts on your pan handle or tripod via its integrated clamp.

The included 2.4 GHz wireless receiver inserts into your camera's remote or LANC port for reliable wireless connectivity, and the unit comes with a 3.3' long LANC remote cable with a 2.5mm connector as a wired option. It features an OLED display for quick verification of recording time, battery life, and connectivity status, and two separately available AAA batteries power it.

Note: The controller is only compatible with Panasonic cameras that use the LANC protocol.

Pressure-Sensitive Zoom Rocker
Enhance your video recording with this pressure-sensitive zoom control. With three speeds, you can zoom slow or fast and even reverse the direction of the toggle.
Focus & Iris Control
There are individual controls for your camcorder's focus and iris. You can set up to three speeds for focus, two increment options for the iris, and a toggle for auto or manual modes. These settings allow you to customize your shooting needs based on the scenes you're capturing.
Wireless Receiver
Insert the 2.4 GHz receiver into your camcorder's remote or LANC port, and you'll have a wireless connection. You can control your zoom, iris, and focus without extra wires to fumble over.
Wired Operation
Plug the included 2.5mm LANC cable into the remote and your camcorder, and you have a dedicated connection without any wireless interference.
Record & Review
Start and stop recording with the press of a button and without removing your hand from the pan handle. After capturing your clip, press the review button to ensure you got the right shot.
OLED Display
A bright OLED display shows your video recording time, battery life, and wireless or wired connection status. The easy-to-read screen makes for quick navigation through all the menu settings.
Built-In Clamp
Attach the remote to your pan handle, tripod, or any tubing up to 1.3" wide. Clamping the remote to the pan handle allows you to toggle the zoom and control the pan together for a dynamic, moving shot.
Sleep Timer
This remote runs off two separately available AAA batteries, and there's a sleep timer to help save battery power. Choose between ten minutes, one hour, or four hours of inactivity. This way, if you're working and put the remote down for a break, it will automatically go to sleep.
USB-C Port
Use the USB-C port to update to the latest firmware when available.

Magnus REX VT-5000 2-Stage Video Tripod with Fluid Head

The Magnus REX VT-5000 2-Stage Video Tripod with Fluid Head supports cameras and accessories weighing up to 17 pounds. The head accepts a sliding balance plate with 3.25" of adjustment. It features independent pan and tilt locks with variable fluid tilt drag and a 75mm leveling ball. Two 1/4"-20 accessory mounting holes are built into the head. The legs are made from aluminum and feature three sections with lever locks. The head and legs combination features a height range of 29 to 64.25" and folds to 32.6" long for transport and storage.

Dual-spiked feet and a mid-level spreader make an excellent combination for shooting on uneven terrain. The mid-level spreader has 4.25" of adjustment, allowing you to spread the legs wide for a more stable base. The spiked feet are suitable for use on exteriors and soft surfaces. When shooting on hard or delicate surfaces, the included rubber feet may give you a better grip and protect the surface from the spikes. Built into one of the legs is a hook on an elastic line to help secure the legs from opening accidentally when closed. An included padded bag carries your tripod legs and head, and it includes a shoulder strap for ease of carry.

Fluid Head
The head features a spring-loaded counterbalance with pan and tilt fluid drag. Tilt drag is variable and can be adjusted to provide more or less drag, allowing you to fine-tune the head to match the needs of the shot.
The sliding balance camera plate features a spring-loaded locating pin and supports both 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 camera tie-down screws (included).
The camera plate features 3.25" of travel, providing a wide range of movement to balance your camera on the head for optimum operation.
Two 1/4"-20 threaded accessory mounting holes are integrated into the head, and they allow you to mount a variety of accessories, including articulating arms and mounting brackets.
The head features two pan handle rosettes for left- or right-handed operation. One pan handle is included with the system, and it includes a rosette washer that helps protect the rosettes from stripping.
Tripod Legs
The included mid-level spreader is adjustable, allowing you to spread the legs for a more stable shot or draw them close to gain height. The legs can be closed with the spreader attached.
The legs feature independent leg spread and height adjustment, which is useful for working on even surfaces such as rocky terrain or stairs.
The legs feature dual-spiked feet that provide a solid purchase on soft surfaces when the legs are spread wide or extended to full height.
The rubber feet attach to the spiked feet for working on delicate or hard surfaces.
An elastic line with attached hook extends from the bottom of one of the legs, allowing you to secure the legs in a closed position for storage or transport.

This tripod is no short of phenomenal for the price. It has tension knobs, to change the level of friction. Its easy to balance, and has supported my Blackmagic 6k Pro, and RED Komodo Rigs with ease. I see people talking about the legs sliding down when locked, and yes that has happened to me before, but what I've found out, is all it takes is a little tightening of the screw on the back of the leg, and its all fixed. Def would recommend for anyone looking for the best bang for your buck tripod.

Is it normal that the release switches are REALLY HARD to pull? I have to bend the plastic basically and it's so stiff. Can I soften it with the allen wrench socket in the back of the release mechanism?
Asked by: Razvan
The release latches shouldn’t be difficult to pull, but you can use the hex key in the back to loosen it slightly and see if that would help.

The Glide Gear TMP 750 is about 7lbs. The Magnus REX VT-5000 2-Stage Video Tripod supports up to 17lb payloads. As long as your camera payload is less than 8-9lbs it would work.

Asked by: Gerald
Yes, Magnus REX VT-5000 2-Stage Video Tripod with Fluid Head has a load capacity of 17lbs. It's camera release plate comes with 3/8-16 screw which is fully compatible with your camera. If you will be using multiple accessories attach on your camera as well as long Cine lenses I will recommend the Magnus REX VT-6000 2-Stage Video Tripod with Fluid Head since it will be more steady on heavier equipment load.

what's the difference between "stepped" and "fixed"?
Asked by: JJ
The tripod head of the Magnus REX VT-5000 2-Stage Video Tripod with Fluid Head and Dolly (B&H# MAVT5000TK) features a fixed counterbalance. That means it cannot be adjusted. You may have seen other tripod heads with a stepped counterbalance feature meaning that they can be adjusted in steps to counterbalance against different amounts of weight but that the counterbalance weight cannot be adjusted continuously.
