Tripp Lite 9PX Overview

Provide your electronically powered systems with uninterruptable power using Tripp Lite's Eaton 9PX 2U Online Double-Conversion UPS. Designed to feature true sine wave AC output via the eight NEMA 5-15R outputs, this 2U rackmount tower unit sports a power output of 700VA / 630W and is powered using an 8' long NEMA 5-15P input connection.

This UPS features sealed, lead-acid internal batteries that are hot-swappable, so changing out dead or broken batteries is simple and easy. Additionally, up to four extended battery modules can also be added to this UPS. At full load the runtime of this UPS is 11 minutes, while at half load the runtime is 24 minutes. Eaton has designed this UPS to feature ABM technology that extends battery service life by 50% and provides warnings for battery replacement. Located on the front of the UPS is an LCD graphical display with a 5-button programmable menu that shows alerts, connection status, settings, and more.

Graphical LCD
Speed of deployment, configuration and troubleshooting are more critical to businesses today than ever. With the 9PX easy-to-read local menu, 13 measurements, 25 settings, 15 control functionalities, six points of identification and optional password protection are available at your fingertips. The LCD also tilts 45 degrees for optimal viewing when configured in the bottom of a rack and rotates to match rack or tower installations, making local management a breeze.
Optional Communication Cards
Adding a network card allows your UPS to connect to an Ethernet network and the internet, supporting real-time monitoring and control. With the Gigabit Network Card, you can record event history and log data for historic trending and analysis, reboot protected devices over SNMP/web, initiate live migration of virtual machines, remotely notify and send email/SMS notifications and alarms and more. It also enables you to integrate with industry leading virtualization platforms and perform customizable actions like automatic shutdown in the event of an extended power failure.
Informed Power Management
Know your power consumption down to the load segment with built-in energy metering that’s accessible through the graphical LCD menu and optional Gigabit Network Card (NETWORK-M2). This allows you to better understand your power consumption and make informed decisions about how to manage it. The 9PX’s load segments provide the intelligent outlet level management.

Among other things, you can use them to:

  • Set up prioritized shutdown and automated restart protocols inthe event of an outage
  • Program daily or weekly schedules (often during off-hours) toreboot or shutdown equipment proactively
  • Remotely cycle power to critical, frozen IT equipment withoutdeploying costly resources
Ideal for Industrial Control Environments
Typically used for safety considerations, the remote power off (RPO) port allows a remote, normally open or normally closed, contact to signal the UPS to cut power to all connected equipment. With RPO functionality, you must restart the UPS manually. The remote on/off (ROO) port allows you to remotely shut down the UPS and restart it automatically when the remote contact is reset. ROO functionality is well-suited for industrial automation and remote environments where systems need to control the UPS on/off state. The port can also be programmed to be a remote signal input.
Communication Ports
Built into this UPS is a UBS-B port and an RS-232 port that allows for easy managing of the system and the information that is transmitted.
