SmallRig RC100C Overview

Extremely portable, with bright variable color output, the RC 100C COB LED Monolight Lite Version from SmallRig boasts a host of interesting features in a very compact, palm-sized body. All types of creators and vloggers are sure to appreciate its lightweight cube-shaped housing and 2500-10,000K bi-color flexibility. Weighing only 1.6 lb, the RC 100C brings you an intuitive lighting experience with multiple control and power options. The RC 100C works great for both video recording and photography applications. It's also suitable for outdoor shootings and creators on the go. Featuring 12 effects, the fixture can be used for a variety of creative lighting simulations. This version includes a mini reflector to achieve a 45° beam angle with your light.

Compact Size, Bright Output
With the included 45° mini reflector, the RC 100C outputs up to 11,000 lux at 3.3' (5600K). The bare light has an illuminance of 3650 lux.
Multiple Power Options
The RC 100C provides multiple power solutions thanks to its USB-C, DC, and BP/mini XLR ports. You can power the light using an optional AC to DC power adapter or via USB-C power, supporting a 140W PD power supply. Battery options are also available with V-mount or NP-F battery compatibility. The batteries are not included.

  • Works with the brand's NP-F970 USB-C rechargeable batteries
  • Works with select battery grip handles
  • It is also compatible with the optional SmallRig 130W AC to DC adapter
Accurate Colors
High scores with CRI of 96+, TLCI of 98+, SSI of 84 (3200K), and TM-30 Rf/Rg of 94/102 ensure accurate color rendering.
12 Lighting Effects
Packing 12 lighting effects, the RC 100C also supports four custom presets, HSI, RGBCW, and GEL modes for more than 36,000+ different color options.
Intuitive Onboard Control
A convenient 1.4" LCD color screen allows you to monitor the settings at a glance while, for adjustments, you can control the light locally. Two independent knobs are available for precise and fast adjustment of light parameters such as color temperature and brightness.
App Control & Optional DMX Adapter
  • The SmallGoGo app provides wireless control over your fixture right from your smartphone
  • The RC 100C is DMX compatible using a separately available DMX adapter
Efficient Cooling
The unit employs the SmallRig independently developed cooling system to ensure cooling efficiency.
Widely Compatible
The light is fully compatible with SmallRig's mini mount modifiers, including a range of parabolic and square softboxes, but it can also work with an optional Bowens adapter.

Well Built Light, with 1 Shortfall

I already owned two SmallRig RC 220 Pro Bi Color LEDs. I wanted to add this light to use as a hair light. I like its compact size for that reason. Its light intensity from 1 - 100% also gives a really nice range. The power options for V mount battery or USB-C Power is nice and flexible as well. The cooling fan is also very quiet. My only complaint and why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is that the Bowens mount is not the standard size. Any accessories like a soft box need to be purchased specifically for this light. Overall a great light and happy to have it in my interview kit.
