Is this compatible with the Sony ZV-E10 II, and will the button trigger the shutter when the camera is in photo mode?
No, the SmallRig Side Handle with REC Trigger for Select Cameras does not work with the ZVE-10 II. Smallrig says they do not have any options that support the Sony Zve-10 II.

The SmallRig Side Handle with REC Trigger for Select Cameras supports the Sony a7 V Mirrorless Camera but it does not support the Sony a6700 Mirrorless Camera.
