Enjoy wired and wireless audio streaming with the white Edifier R1280DB Bluetooth Speaker System. The system features optical, digital coaxial, two stereo RCA inputs, and Bluetooth connectivity, allowing you to connect nearly any audio source. Each speaker consists of a 4.5" woofer and a 0.5" tweeter for full-range audio. The system outputs up to 42W RMS to provide room-filling sound. For your convenience, all connectivity is via the powered right speaker, which connects to the passive left speaker with the included speaker connecting cable. Optical, stereo RCA, and 1/8" to RCA audio cables are also included for instant connectivity.

If using via bluetooth, the speakers will be connected to each other by wire, but not wired to the turntable? Is that correct? Are there BT speakers that do not require a wired connection between the two speakers, to allow more freedom with placement? And what type of wired connection between the speakers when using BT? Will a simple RCA "patch cord work?

These speakers have a Bluetooth receiver built-in, so will receive BT from any device tht provides BT transmission.
They also provide wired connectivity as follows, per the spec sheet:
(the 2nd speaker DOES require a wire to connect to it, from the 1st or "main" speaker.
