I use a fully adjustable tripod I got for something else. Ideally you want something that is either short or can stretch out a bit for stability. The Dwarf is basically a big plastic sail, and wind loves a sail. You want a tripod that will counter any sudden wind.

The DwarfLab Dwarf 3 Smart Telescope does need to go through the alignment process when using EQ mode. It does not need to see the North Star because it can determine the alignment based on your location.

To view and download files from the DwarfLab Dwarf 3 Smart Telescope (BH # DWARF3) without a laptop, connect your phone to the device using the Type C-C cable included in the kit. This will allow you to view and transfer files directly to your phone via their mobile app. It is not possible to export data directly to external media.
