A great flash. Well made. All the features you'd want. Just a bit heavy and a bit too expensive

Nice flash

Works great. No complaints. Appreciate the fast recycle time and splash resistance for events. Didn’t notice much of a change from V1 of this flash.

Is this viewfinder feature possible while using this EL-1 version 2 flash with the Canon R5 mk II BODY? [Exposure+DOF] in [Display simulation]. This would allow me to preview a resulting image before the flash and shutter are activated. Almost like a prediction of WYSIWYG.
Asked by: Paul
Yes, it is possible to use the Exposure+DOF display simulation in the Canon EOS R5 Mark II Mirrorless Camera while using the Canon Speedlite EL-1 (Version 2).

I am using the Canon R5 mk II, and I heard someone say that using the Speedlite EL-1 version 2 with this camera will allow [Exposure+DOF] in [Display simulation] before the image is actually captured. Is this true? How would that work? Or is this just a simple modelling flash feature, which is possible on almost any Canon camera body?
Asked by: Paul
[Exposure+DOF] will not work correctly when using the EL-1 II on the R5 II.

What is the battery life like in comparison to 600EX II-RT? How many batteries should I expect to need for a full day?
Asked by: Stephanie
According to Canon, the EL-1 V2 will provide approximately 340–2,380 flashes, depending on the power setting. This would be much higher than the 600EX II RT, which utilized AA type batteries. However, it is always good practice to carry an extra battery or two in case your shoot runs over. The spare battery would be the Canon LP-EL Lithium-Ion Battery Pack, BH # CALPEL. https://bit.ly/4ivX8I8
