I read somewhere that some features on the R5m2, like pre-capture, won't work with non-Canon batteries. Is that the case here?

However, there are limitations such as no network capabilities, no 8k video, no high FPS video, no multi function shoe accessories, and slower drive speeds. The SmallRig LP-E6P USB-C Battery (2520mAh, Orange), BH # SM5407 MFR # 5407, would be the better choice for the Canon R5 Mark 2 camera.
