SmallRig 5227 Overview

Add a compact, lightweight camera mounting and battery plate system to your rig with the Pro Adjustable Arca-Type Plate and V-Mount Battery Interface System from SmallRig. This modular, folding plate system is designed for mirrorless cameras, and it also accommodates cameras with rear flip displays. This system consists of a V-mount battery plate with USB-C and D-Tap ports, an Arca-type receiver, an Arca-type quick release plate, and a modular LCD screen protection bracket.

Additional Details
  • Bidirectional USB-C ports power accessories and recharge the battery.
  • D-Tap output ports power other cine accessories.
  • Battery plate features overcurrent and temperature protection.
  • Rotate the battery plate 90° to create more room for your camera's back articulating display.
  • The LCD protector bracket holds the back display in place when open, protecting it from damage, and can be removed when not in use.
  • Cable clips and an elastic hook-and-loop strap are included for organized cable management.

I bought this for my R7 based on reviews but it perfectly fits my C70 minus the screen holder which I didn’t find necessary. The multiple DTap and USBC ports make it ideal for cable management. Very easy to add a manfrotto plate to the bottom of the rig with a 1/4 screw. Love how you can losen or tighten the VMount Battery plate quickly to open/ close the C70 screen. My only regret is I didn’t buy two and but one sooner

Can the screen cradle adjust enough vertically to still function properly on a Canon R5C with BG-R10 Battery Grip installed?

The SmallRig V-Mount Battery Mount Plate Kit will not accommodate a battery grip mounted to the camera. With this plate you can use a larger V-mount battery to power the camera for longer periods of time instead of needing a battery grip.

The USB-C ports on the SmallRig Pro Adjustable Arca-Type Plate and V-Mount Battery Interface System are designed to either power accessories from a V-mount battery or charge a V-mount battery from a power adapter. They are not designed to provide power for a camera rig without a V-mount battery installed.
