Impact Baby Offset Arm Overview

The KEYGRIP 10" Baby Offset Arm from Impact features a 10" arm that terminates with a 5/8" baby pin that sits at a 90° angle and has knurling to prevent rotation. The steel baby receiver has two locking knob positions that ensure a secure hold on short and long baby pins, making it compatible with both light stands and C-stands. The Baby Offset Arm is a go-to studio accessory that provides 10" of clearance from a light stand to provide more room to tilt a large softbox or light modifier without interference from the light stand's riser.

In addition to achieving an angle for glamorous lighting and minimal shadowing, this arm offers the option of offsetting a light to the right or left of the stand in order to place your lens along the same axis while keeping the light stand out of the picture frame.

10" Offset
The SA-BOA-10 extends lights or modifiers with baby receivers 10" away from the light stand's riser. Use the arm to place lights or modifiers in front of the stand for a wider tilting angle for classic lighting. Moving the light or modifier to the right or left of the stand allows you to place the camera's lens along the same axis for flat lighting.
Knurled Baby Pin
The arm is compatible with any light or modifier with a 5/8" baby receiver. Knurling assures a firm hold that won't let a mounted fixture rotate.
Two Locking Knob Positions
All baby pins are not alike because they can vary in length. To ensure a secure mount,0 select one of the two threaded locking knob holes that correspond to the length of the baby pin.

This offset arm is one of those small accessories that ends up being incredibly useful on set. The extra clearance it provides makes a big difference, especially when working with larger modifiers like softboxes. It gives you the room you need to tilt and position your light properly without the stand getting in the way. The build quality is excellent. It feels very strong and solid, and once everything is tightened down, it stays exactly where you put it. I have used it with heavier lights and modifiers and never felt like it was struggling. The knurled baby pin also does a great job of keeping things from slipping or rotating. What I like most is how it opens up more creative positioning options. Whether you need to offset a light slightly to line things up better or just need that extra space, it really comes in handy. It is a simple piece of gear, but it solves a lot of common setup challenges. [I have received this product in exchange for my honest review.]
