Hollyland Lyra Reviews

Overall an excellent technical choice and experience

PROS: This webcam has a solid, clear and customizable high resolution image. The integrated mic is clear and strong in sound quality, and well designed with its versatile magnetic clasp and convenient and tactically innovative charging cradle. Other features like the magnetic mounting cradle and privacy shutter are great. CONS: The video image is on the sterile side and could use some innovation towards a more filmic appearance. OVERALL: A huge leap over cheap-o web cams and and impressive improvement to my setup, radically convenient and well executed product.

Nice features - But not sure about the quality

I spend most of my days on video calls and am using this for that. Granted I am coming from a Sony A7III hooked up to my computer, but I am a little disappointed in the quality. I have a beard and there is a lot of screen door effect. The colors are hard to tune in and auto is way off. Auto in general has a bit of a challenge adjusting to my lights if I turn them off or on, so I don't have as much felxibility. The AI features like auto-framing are neat, but I don't use them. The background blur is not natural if you turn it up, and apps like Zoom and teams do a better job. Auto zoom I think it looks a little weird as it follow you around. So since I use mostly 1080p on calls, I tend to just zoom it and frame it where I want and lock it there. All in all, the features are really great for the price. The app on the desktop is easy to use. Quality is just hard to dial in. I've only used it for about 10 hours of calls so I am hoping I can tune in the video a little better, or that they come out with a firmware update that fixes some of my gripes.

Will it work @1080p 30fps?

The Hollyland Lyra UHD 4K Webcam Streaming Bundle with LARK A1 Wireless Microphone (Black), BH # HOLYRLRKA1TX, outputs 4K video up to 30 fps. Any resolution adjustment would be made from the Hollystudio software.
