I really didn't think I needed a side handle, but after trying a friends Sony FX-3.. I changed my mind. The Smallrig Nato handle is just what I needed for my Sony FX-30, especially with my Siriu Nightwalker 24mm lens. I have large hands but I find the handle to fit well, ymmv. Handle does not add any real weight, and is adjustable to fit your comfy spot. Looks great on the Smallrig FX30 cage which is a plus !

Using it on my S1H as a left sid handle both to add a grip and to place the fieldview monitor on out of the way of the mic. For both purposes its excellent.

What is the distance between the two mounting bolts? Will the align with two 1/4x20mm threaded holes that are 18mm apart?

Unfortunately, Smallrig does not provide the spacing information for this handle it is designed to attach with many Smallrig cage models.

One you have the Nato Rail attached you will be able to work with other handles that support Nato mounting, like the Smallrig handle below. Can I use two of these to shoot video in portrait mode for Instagram reels? instead of having them side by side. So top and bottom instead.

Many cages from Smallrig allow you to work with two handles and you could position the camera in a portrait mode manually with two handles.
