I tried the more colorful, confusingly-similar covers, SmallRig part #5494, and they would not stay on my A7RIV and A7RV cameras. (I backpack with these things, so they get "brushed" a lot...) This newer version of the cover is more secure, but I have still managed to knock them off occasionally, but (miraculously) found them, even when outside. The B&H listing for both says they are compatible with the A7RIV, but doesn't mention the A7RV. They feel about equally snug on both, but I noticed that on the a7RIV, the front edge goes slightly over the front of the view finder housing, while this isn't the case on the A7RV. The attached photo shows that, indeed, the distance is smaller on the A7RIV (top). That slight overhang makes it a bit easier to catch on something, unfortunately. When they are in place, they do provide better rain protection than the OEM "Sony Multi Interface Shoe Cap", but you will have to be careful about knocking them off or be prepared to to possibly lose $5 occasionally. What I would really like is a cover with a "rock solid" tightening wheel, like flashes use. It would be worth the extra cost, I think.
