Designed for supported Sony Alpha bodies when paired with the VG-C4EM grip, the cage maintains access to camera controls, media slots, the battery compartment, and ports while adding mounting points for monitors, handles, microphones, lights, follow-focus systems, and straps.
Camera and Grip Integration
The cage is designed for Sony a7R V, a7 IV, a7S III, a1, a7R IV, and a7 V cameras when used with the VG-C4EM vertical grip. Its formfitting design helps protect the camera and grip assembly without blocking key buttons, card access, the battery compartment, or other ports, making it suitable for hybrid shooting setups that need to remain operational throughout a production day.
Secure Three-Point Mounting
The cage mounts on the camera using a bottom 1/4"-20 screw and dual side locks. Built-in silicone pads help reduce the risk of scratches while improving contact between the cage and camera body. This secure attachment is useful when working with heavier lenses, external monitors, side handles, or shoulder-mounted configurations where rigidity is important.
Accessory Mounting Options
Multiple 1/4"-20 threaded holes, 3/8"-16 threaded holes, and ARRI locating holes provide flexible mounting for production accessories. The cage supports compatible top handles, side handles, monitor mounts, and magic arms, allowing users to configure the camera for handheld work, tripod operation, interview setups, or compact cinema-style builds.
Dual Cold Shoe Mounts
Two integrated cold shoe mounts provide convenient attachment points for accessories such as a microphone or compact LED video light. This helps keep frequently used accessories close to the camera body without requiring additional adapters.
Arca-Swiss Quick Release Base
A built-in Arca-Swiss quick release plate on the bottom of the cage supports direct mounting on Arca-type tripods and compatible DJI gimbals. The cage is compatible with DJI RS 2, RSC 2, RS 3, RS 3 Pro, RS 4, RS 4 Pro, and RS 5 gimbals, supporting faster transitions between handheld, tripod, and stabilized shooting.
Front Rod Clamp Support
A built-in front 1/4"-20 locating hole supports use with a compatible single rod clamp. This enables attachment of a 15mm single rod for follow-focus systems and other lens-control or rigging accessories, which is useful for video production and controlled focus-pulling setups.
Strap and Carrying Options
The cage includes a strap slot for compatible wrist straps and a QD socket for use with a quick-release shoulder strap. These carrying options are practical for location work, event coverage, and handheld shooting where secure camera handling is important.
Onboard Assembly Tool
A magnetic double-ended wrench is stored at the base of the cage for installation and removal. Keeping the wrench integrated with the cage simplifies on-location adjustments without needing a separate tool kit.
