Sony RX10 V Reviews
Excellent walkaround & travel camera

Rated 5 out of 5

I am really happy with this camera - so nice to be able to walk for miles and have a camera with wide angle to long telephoto range that I could carry in my hand. I have a DSLR and high-end Canon L-series lenses but that kit is just too large & heavy to carry around. A larger sensor would have been nice but then the camera would have grown with it; this size is really nice to work with. Image quality is excellent. Kudos to B&H on the quick delivery.

I have absolutely loved the Sony a 6700, but when I travel, this will be my go to one lens does everything very well camera set up. Thank you Sony for bringing the RX 10 back to your line. Although I’ve been a professional photographer for many years with back in the film era, I am perfectly comfortable with this all in one system. look forward to the possible release of the RX 100 in the future.

From what I understand you can Not zoom while actively taking photos to recompose. You have to let off the shutter, recompose and continue shooting.

Is this camera actually built with a magnesium alloy? I haven't seen Sony advertise that feature at all. I'm concerned about whether its durability is on par with the Alpha series.
Asked by: Noppharat
The Sony RX10 V Digital Camera is dust and moisture resistant so it is okay for use in light rain but not recommended for a heavy downpour. The body is made of polycarbonate plastic.

What changed from the 4 to the 5?
What changed from the 4 to the 5?
Asked by: Steve
The Sony RX10 V digital camera, compared to the RX10 IV has a Bionz XR processor and an AI processing unit. That allows for subject recognition modes, including birds, animals, cars, planes, and “human pose estimation." It can shoot faster, up to 30 fps, with a blackout-free viewfinder. It also has a speed boost function that lets you temporarily engage a faster (or slower) shooting mode.
Video has been improved, capturing 10-bit and H.265 footage, and it can now shoot 4K/120 with a significant 1.38x crop or oversampled 4K/60 from the full width of the sensor.
It no longer has a built-in flash.
And the other big change is the battery. It uses the larger NP-FZ100 battery.
