Expert Take: Sony RX10 V Real World Performance
The Sony RX10 V is the everyday camera I'd recommend if you're looking for professional-level results without carrying a bag full of lenses. In your hand, it feels substantial and well balanced without feeling overly bulky. The grip provides you a secure and comfortable hold, which matters most when you're shooting for long periods of time or working with the extended zoom.
It's strength lies in its versatility. The long zoom makes the RX10 V a practical camera for travel, wildlife photography, sports, family events, in addition to everyday shooting. You can move from wide scenes to distant subjects quickly without changing lenses. For photographers or creatives who are looking for strong 4K video capabilities, fast autofocus, excellent image quality, and an all-in-one camera, the RX10 V is a compelling choice. It not only feels like a serious camera in your hands, but maintains an overall comprehensive user experience that is straightforward.

Sony RX10 V Reviews
Thoughts from Vlogging Youtuber
I was really excited to have this camera to help in Car review videos or Vlogs while travelling. The Zoom is amazing and hope it works better than the old Sony AX53 camcorder (which is a great youtuber camera but they don't make anymore) and also be easier to use than my Sony A7Siii, switching lenses during a filming day can get annoying and often I miss the moment. Main problem I had is the zoom speed is perfect when the camera is NOT recording, it is fast and smooth. Then you push that record button and it is Soooo slow, like unusable slow. I did find some settings on the backend to speed it up, but it still isn't as good as when it is not recording. I was willing to give up the wide angle if I turn the camera on myself for some extra help with long zooming, but now I'm questioning the tradeoff. I didn't return the camera, almost did, going to find a place for it in my filming of Youtube videos when i'm on the go and need short and long shots. But It is not the video one camera option I was hoping for. Sony if you are listening, bring back the functional 4k camcorder for youtubers but make it with a larger sensor and updated for 2026!
So far, I'm very pleased
I owned the RX 10 IV for several years. I decided I was ready to "appear" to be more of a pro (which I'm not) and sold that and bought a Sony A7 IV. Nice camera, but I ended up hauling a heavy camera and a variety of lenses. My camera bag was weighing me down, so I usually just went with the kit zoom. I'm not saying I wasted my money, but it was more than I really needed. I sold all of that and went with the Sony a6700, thinking I still needed all of those lenses. Loved that camera. Everything was lighter...but again...carrying too much stuff. So I decided to go back to my "roots" and try out this RX10 V. It has been a success. One camera with that one amazing zoom. There are some downsides, but when I actually thought about my needs - none of them were things that really mattered. Yes, I would like a lens with a larger aperture. It would be nice to have the monitor completely flip around like I had on my 6700. But, it's rare that I'm going to point this camera at myself...and I can always use the phone app to get a view if I need to. Or, I can use my five-inch monitor I bought a few years ago that I rarely use. The pros far outweigh the negatives. I can now carry one camera (yes, it's on the heavy side) and get everything I need. I do shoot occasional events with a media pass and one of the requirements is usually having a professional "looking" camera (as opposed to a phone). The RX 10 V definitely meets that requirement. I am very pleased with the quality of the photos and videos I'm getting. I'm planning on this being my last camera. (However, I think I've said that three times before.) I'm long past retirement age. I have absolutely no regrets.
