Designed for precision stereo recording, the sE Electronics sE8 Supercardioid Microphone Capsules (Matched Pair) give you two meticulously matched sE8 supercardioid microphone capsules, which can be used to replace the included capsules that come with the omnidirectional or cardioid versions of the mics. The supercardioid polar pattern focuses audio capture narrowly on sound sources directly in front of the microphone.
The sE8 capsules have been engineered to provide a balanced, transparent, and natural sound as well as a detailed transient response, making these hand-made, gold-sputtered capsules suitable for recording individual instruments, ensembles, or an entire orchestra.
When the capsules are paired with sE8 mic bodies (available separately), the resulting mics deliver inherently low self-noise for meeting the demands of high-resolution digital recording. They also accommodate maximum SPLs high enough to handle drums, and a dynamic range large enough to record triple-piano to triple-forte velocities accurately.
The supercardioid pickup pattern in this version helps to narrowly focus audio capture directly on the sound source, resulting in less bleed from other instruments and less feedback from sound reinforcement equipment.
