Spend less time centering your target and more time stargazing with Celestron's StarPointer. It was designed to provide the easiest experience locating celestial objects in the night sky by projecting a single red-dot in the center of the field of view. The StarPointer has a rheostat to control the reticle brightness and attaches quickly to most telescopes with a dovetail connection and finger knobs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good enough I bought a NexStar 4SE that did not have a finderscope - and order this item as a replacement. Due to low profile of the mounting bracket this is very steady unit, with adjustment knobs to align it before use. Red dot is bright enough to be seen during daytime for alignment purposes. My only quibble is the minimum setting for this red dot being a bit too bright. I feel that my night vision is compromised a bit during viewing session due to the bright red dot even though I have it set on minimum setting.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Opinion. The Celestron StarPointer Finderscope came in with my Nexstar 6SE and was working for 2 months. I tried aligning the dot which didn't work at first, but eventually I was able to do so. After about another month, I turned the dial on the finderscope and it kinda just broke. (Not really break off but the dial just popped out a bit) Of course, it is still operable, but now I had to manually push the dial in more. (Also I should mention that I didn't turn the dial too hard) If you are planning to buy this finderscope, make sure you take GOOD CARE of it. (I mean it's made of plastic)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Small, but effective. I bought it to replace a standard 6x30mm finder scope on my 6 Short Tube reflector Telescope.I had to drill an extra hole, which was pretty easy. I wear glasses,so the great thing about this style of laser finderscope is you use both eyes to allign it to your object. You don't have to be perfectly centered behind it, just move around till you see the red dot and guide it over your object and you are done.Only negative about it is that the dot is a little big,but I can find stars much quicker now with this style of finder scope. The size is great too, since I can leave it attach when I store or transport my scope,is like 33% the height of my old finderschope and like 33% shorther also.Great addition for reasonable price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple and accurate. I put this on my scope in addition to the optical 9X finder I have mounted. Using first the red dot and then the 9X, I can find an object in the sky in seconds. Could not be without it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Finderscope Star Pointer Works Great We really like the variable intensity, lighted dot which works much better than trying to place black cross hairs on a star in the dark. Mounting the device was a good grandfather-grandson project once the appropriate screws were acquired. ... I believe it is good value for the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just perfect Exactly what I needed. I have a Celestron reflector telescope--a 4.5, f/8 beginner's telescope from the turn of the century. (Boy, that sounds old, doesn't it?). With my new Tele Vue DeLite 18.2 mm eyepiece and Barlows, it's everything I want--but the finder that came with it is for the birds. Can't see the crosswires at night and have to constantly re-align it, so sometimes it works and sometimes not. Very frustrating. This little guy installed right in place of my old finder, without even having to use any of the adapters that came with it. Super easy to figure out, align, and use. My first night out with it, I found several things I hadn't been able to find yet. Looking forward to more exciting sky-watching! Note: For those who want to know, it also works during daylight.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from StarPointer Good product but didn't come with any directions on how to operate or mount. Nothing at all other than box said see directions in box to mount and operate. Emailed B&H and person responding had no idea how to do either of these things. And told me that the Star pointer isn't made to mount on things. So clearly they have no idea about their products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great price and shipping costs. Always well packed. I ordered 4 pieces of this starpointer for an astronomy program at an international university, so I have not used it myself. I understand, however, that the staff there are very happy with this and other Celestron products they have ordered. I frequently find the best product and shipping prices on telescope accessories from B&H.
