Great solution
Passes fantom power with rase. Keeps mic cable out of the way with a belt clip.
Convenient In-line Mic Preamp.
I usually use a wireless system with my tenor sax. Recently, I was called for some gigs in England. I looked into bringing my systemno go; the frequencies are wrong for the UK, and I'd need a license, etc. etc. I looked into renting one over therenot worth it. So I looked into a mic preamp that I could attach to my horn. This one was recommended for my application. I purchased it and brought it over with me, along with my sax and Beta 98 on a gooseneck; it all fit in my sax case. Worked like a charm! I clipped it onto the key guard, and there it happily sat, plugged into the mic output on one end, and the XLR cable on the other. I was still tethered to a cable, but it was much freer than standing in front of a stationary mic stand. Just know that you'll require 48V phantom power; but almost all quality mixing decks have that. Thumbs up!
