Nikon is well known for its quality products. This kit is no exception to that. It comes with two ( 2) cleaning pens of various sizes, both of which and made by LENS PEN the flag carrier of the industry. The pens are made in Canada. As for the two cloths ( anti fog and micro fiber) they are both first quality. The important thing is to keep the cloths clean and dirt free and pack them away in the handy case that comes with the pens. I used the micro fiber to clean one of my lens. No damage as the cloth was never used before so no dust or debris. Remember to use a hurricane blower before using the cloths, especially the micro fiber to loosen or dislodge any debris or dust. Do not use compressed air as this could release chemicals that can damage your lens. All in all, a great purchase. I own five of these kits. One for each of my cases. Great price too.. As for B+H. Great customer service . Fair pricing and their product availability , second to none. They too are the flag carriers of the industry. I have bought with confidence from B+H for more than twenty-five years.

    Nice to have!

Does anyone have an idea what the "non-liquid compound that won't spill or dry out" is? I have two LensPens and both shed fine black lint and 'stamp' black circles of the lint on white paper; will they not leave that same residue on my lenses?
    Asked by: Jessica
Lenspen uses a proprietary carbon compound for cleaning. While this may shed on other products, it cleans when used on optics.

How long will this particular pen last? LensPen notes that their product could clean up to 500 times. Is the Nikon about the same?
    Asked by: Heidi
The Nikon Lenspen Lens Cleaning Pen has no expiration date and so can last years. In terms if usage, it is rated for about 500 cleanings.

    question

According to reviews on another (never to be mentioned here) website, the microfiber cloth is not to be used on lenses. Is that true?
    Asked by: Anonymous
The issue I believe is that microfiber cloths can pick up potentially abrasive dust particles, but that can be avoided if you wash the cloth and then keep it in a plastic bag. Lens coatings are pretty tough in general, so I'd not be worried as long as the cloth is known to be dust/dirt free and washed regularly enough that oils don;t build up on the fibers (and smear on the lens)

    Asked by: Jack
No, the Nikon Lens Pen Pro Kit (BH #NILPPK) could maybe hold a very small air blower but isn't designed for it.

    question

I was using a generic pen to keep my old camera's lens clean. One day I noticed a black smudge being created by the pen. It even left a smudge on my skin. Does anyone know why this smudge was created? My husband bought me a similar cleaning kit for my new Nikon and I hesitate to use it.Thanks.DSLR Newbie

In much the same way that carbon in newsprint ink allows you to clean a window with newspaper, the carbon helps absorb oils, grease, etc. which smudge the lens. When you place the cap back on the carbon tip, the tip is refreshed, for up to ~500 or so cleanings.

Very good quality. I would not use anything else on my expensive lens. Out of stock now. But, hopefully coming soon.

    question

I wonder about the little pad. If there are any particles on the glass and they are picked up by the pad, where do they go? If you cap it, then uncap it for use on another lens/glass, would the pad have anything from the last glass cleaned on it?
    Asked by: Anonymous
IT depends on how dirty the first lens you're trying to clean. of course, it will pick up particles from a past cleaning however all cleaning pads/cloths are the same. You can gently clean the pad then continue to use it.
