Epson S041407 reviews

Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster (13 x 19", 50 Sheets) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 249.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Paper, but a bit thin in 13 This is a very good RC paper for color prints. The surface has enough gloss for high contrast and saturation, but not so much as to annoy with excessive reflections. I cut some of the sheets in half, resulting in 9 1/2 x 13 sheets for printing uncropped 8 x 12s For my taste the paper color is too cool for B&W. The 240 gsm weight and 10 mil thickness are fine for smaller prints, but they make for a somewhat limp sheet at 13 by 19 (Super B). You can buy heavier papers but at a higher price. Overall this mid-priced paper is suitable for a wide range of images. Epson's consistent quality and excellent resealable packaging make this good-value product my workhorse paper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ultra Premium Luster Epson Paper I'm a longtime traditional photographer, making b&w silver gelatin prints, using a 4 x 5. A long time ago, I settled on Oriental Seagull paper, glossy (I noticed that Ansel Adams used it), which I dried on a fiberglass screen. That's the surface I like. It's glossy, bringing out the blacks, but not super shiny (as in the old days, when we finished prints by squeeging them on ferrotype tins). Super shiny meant you couldn't see the print for the reflection. Anyway, the surface of the luster finish here, side by side with my Oriental Prints, looks identical. So, if you're looking for a glossy, but not too glossy finish, this is the way to go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product Just tried this paper. I had previously been using a canon 5100 printer and preferred canon paper for it. The lab at school switched to mainly epson printers. 4880 for now, 4900's coming. Chose this as an alternative to photo paper plus semi-gloss and very pleased with the results. I mainly am printing multi-tone and tritone images. This paper produced excellent results with nice details and smooth wide range tones. If you are printing grey scale images with subtle split tones this is a great paper at a very reasonable price. I haven't printed colors yet but expect optimum results based on current experience.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ghosts in my framed prints! I recently took down a show of framed prints that had been up for 3 months and was shocked to find many of them had ghosting. Not sure what it was, I did some web research and it turns out unless you CURE the printsEpson suggest at least 24 hours with sheets of plain paper between the printsthe result can be disastrous. The ink volatiles continue to evaporate and then condense between the print (RC paper is relatively nonabsorbent) and the glass. Further research suggests that even when following the Epson recommended curing procedure (NOT packaged in the paper!), trouble will probably result. I'm now faced with reprinting on a different (non-RC) paper and trying to clean the crude off the expensive non-glare glass. Has no one else had this problem?!?!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice but is it really what I need? I finally broke down and bought the premium paper, normally I buy the 4 start glossy. I wanted to see if the difference was really notable. I like the paper, still to early to tell if I will like it after I use all of it. These reviews almost always get written before I have used the product for a long enough time.I like Epson paper. ... is actually fine also. Ilford makes really goos stuff in all kinds of finishes but is more $$.One thing. I got ink bubbles on some of my first prints but it may have been bc my printer was not in use for a few months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Quality Paper. I make prints with this paper on my Epson R2880. The paper's finish, weight and feel are top notch. ICC Profiles are readily available and easy to use. The luster finish gives a fantastic touch, not to glossy and not to dull. It is just right and really accentuates the color, contrast and overall look of my landscape prints. I've used Ilford and Red River products and this Epson paper will now become my go to stuff. I especially appreciated the shipping speed and careful and protective package keeping it in perfect condition upon arrival.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful prints If you have an Epson printer I believe this is the best paper you can buy. It has a gorgeous semi-gloss finish, is very bright, and has a good weight. I have an Epson R1800 printer and while I use other papers for utility prints up to and including 8x10, Premium Luster is the only paper I use for Exhibitions, sales or enlargements up to 13x19.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Epson Lustre I used the paper on an Epson 3800 printer in my college classroom, and found it to be vastly superior to the Epson Premium Presentation Matte we had been using previously. The colors were rich and accurate without being garish, and the blacks had some punch to them. So far I didn't find anything that was a problem or unsatisfying.
