Hoya Circular Polarizer Overview

Circular Polarizer - Light rays which are reflected become polarized. Polarizing filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colors providing better contrast. The effect can be seen through the viewfinder and changed by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies according to how the filter is rotated and its orientation to the sun.

NOTE: Circular polarizers are specifically designed for use with auto-focus SLR cameras (They will also work on manual systems and video cameras without problems).

This filter eliminates ultraviolet rays to remove haze from outdoor shots as well as polarizing the light to remove reflections, and increase color saturation, without affecting the overall color balance

The filter is great and not too expensive but with the filter on, the lens hood for the Canon 24-70 F2 won't fit.

This Hoya Polarizer filter helps to reduce glare and reflections by filtering out certain types of light that enhance my images. I like having it on lens for this purpose and as a an additional protection for the actual lens. Very pleased with this purchase.

The filter itself is great but on my Tamron 159-600 it is difficult to reach in and adjust the filter. No fault of the filter... it's a lens hood issue!

It makes beautiful colors even more beautiful

Anyone used this on the Venus Laowa 17mm f/4?
Asked by: Jeffrey
It will fit perfectly on the Laowa 17mm f/4 GFX Zero-D lens, but, with such a wide focal length, there's a possibility some vignetting may occur when using this filter.

question

Is this filter multi-coated? What is the difference between this filter and the Hoya 43mm NXT Circular Polarizer Filter (B&H # HOCPN43 MFR # A-NXT43CRPL)?
Asked by: Anonymous
This polarizer is not multi-coated. The difference between this filter and the NXT filter is that Hoya NXT filters have over 97% average light transmission, and are constructed from heat-resistant, high-transparency optical glass.

question

Will this filter fit the DJI Inspite 1 Camera?
Asked by: Anonymous
As long as it has the same sized threads and the DJI Inspite 1 camera doesn't have an inside piece that can come through the filter. I am not familiar with that camera.

question

how important is it for a cir polarizer filter to be multicoated? Will there be ghosting without multi coating?
Asked by: Anonymous
Multi-coatings on a circular polarizer will greatly reduce the amount of ghosting and flare in a given image, however, a non-coated polarizer will not necessarily have ghosting.
