Key Features
  • For Nikon 400mm f/2.8 Vers. I & II & VR
  • For Nikon 600mm f/4.0 Version II & VR
This Wimberley Replacement Foot for Nikon 400mm f2.8 and 600mm f/4.0 AF-S takes the place of the tripod collar foot and converts the collar to Arca-style clamp capability without the need for additional quick release plates. Critical mass is reduced & the profile of the lens is lowered, which makes it well suited to use with the Wimberley Sidekick. Every adapter plate is complete with both 3/8"-16 & 1/4"-20 holes to directly attach the lens directly to a monopod or tripod (without an Arca-style clamp) if desired. Drilled holes necessary to attach any of the flash brackets from Wimberley, Really Right Stuff & Kirk Enterprises are also incorporated into the design. This adapter is compatible with the Nikon 400mm f/2.8 AF-S Versions I and II & VR, and the Nikon 600mm f/4.0 AF-S Version II & VR.

Each adapter comes complete with all the necessary hardware and tools to make the conversion, as well as retaining screws to prevent the lens from falling to the ground should you mistakenly unscrew the clamp.

Great quality lens foot replacement for Nikon lenses

By Lewis
Rated 5 out of 5

Strong, robust, well manufactured. Very good quality Arca-Swiss compatible lens foot replacement for Nikon 400mm f/2.8 and the 600mm f/4.0. Yes, it fits on all the 400mm f/2.8 and the 600mm f/4.0. Notice that I did not write any specific lens. If fits on ALL of it. From the AF-S DII to the AF-S FL lenses. As crazy as it sounds. Now you know.

Perfect for Gimbal mount

This foot lowers the lens to perfect height on the gimbal mount. The factory mount is too high, making the lens very top heavy. If the foot had a round shape or smoother edges I would give 5 Stars.

What size hex wrench do I need to take off the factory foot?
Asked by: Dean
I believe they are M3 with 2.5 hex head that are the size and head of the screw for the original AF-S NIKKOR 400mm F2.8G ED VR. But best is to contact Nikon on that.

Will this foot work on the new Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 600mm f/4E FL ED VR Lens?
Asked by: Anonymous
I asked Wimberley about this as well. It will fit but it is not long enough to find proper balance. Wimberley will be coming out with a foot in June that will fit the FL lenses.
