The Wimberly F-2 Macro Bracket consists of the M-1 and M-4 double ball and socket links that lock positively and offer a great range of flash positions as well as creating an extremely adjustable macro bracket for both collared and non-collared lenses. It's perfect for the minimalist to use with everything from a squat 50mm macro lens to a 600mm super-telephoto. As with all of the Shape Shifter components, and unlike other manufacturer's products, parts are captive to prevent detachment from accidentally unscrewing them too far while in the field. Total weight of this combination is 0.88 lb.

The Wimberley system of flash bracket components are modular, versatile and easily stowed in a small space when not in use. Known as the Shape-Shifter Modular Flash Bracket System, the components connect without tools. None of the combinations slip, twist or creep- even during intense action. They're integrated with the venerable Arca-Swiss type quick release system, now dominant as the industry standard for macro and telephoto shooting.

F-2 Macro Bracket is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 26.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice bracket This is a very sturdy and light articulated bracket that can be used to bring the flash closer to the object to photograph. This is especially useful in macrophotography as the lens creates a shadow on the subject when the flash is mounted on the camera. With this bracket, the flash can be moved right to the subject without any shadow. This bracket fits on one end to a Arca Swiss plate and on the other extremity to an extension for the flash. One can also use two brackets to have two flashes. This bracket can also be used for portrait photography, helping to keep the flash away from the camera (when using a wired extension or a wireless sync.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent all-round Though it is a bit bigger/bulkier than I thought it would be, it is very well built, and very easy to use. I use it with a Canon 180mm macro with a 580ex flash (I also use an RRS plate and system). Altogether the system is a bit of a handful, but certainly workable. The bracket can the handle the weight of my 580ex with ease (I need to try it with a small soft-box to see how it holds up). The bracket is as flexible as I could have wished or conceived. Though I originally ordered it for macro and close-up applications, I could see using it for regular portraiture applications as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Rate Product I purchased this to hold my full sized dedicated flash off camera. Nothing else that I tried was strong enough to do so without the flash unit creeping into another position. This unit keeps the flash where you put it. You will need a small bracket to attach the flash to this unit. There are several inexpensive options available. The unit itself has an arca style quick release clamp, so you will need a compatible quick release plate. I attach mine to a camera L-bracket. This works great, and gives me a lot of flexibility. I just ordered a camera bar to assist in macro photography, and will attach it to that when I need to bring the flash further forward. The unit is flexible, strong, and folds nicely so that I can easliy pack it in my camera backpack. While it is expensive, it is the most flexible and sturdy one that I could find.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Bracket Ever This item comes with a bracket and arm component. The bracket is arca-swiss so your RRS, Wimberley, any arca-swiss camera plates will mate with the bracket nicely. The item is very solid and is an absolute pleasure to use. I mount a flash-gun at the end of the arm. (You will need an additional flash horseshoe for that which is not included.) Loosen the two knobs found on the arms and you can easily position your flashgun to point in any direction. Then once you are happy with the position, you tighten the two knobs. Once tighten, and you remove your support on the flashgun, the position Does NOT move! BEAUTY! None of the flash arms I have tried are this easy. They are either too stiff to shift quickly or wont hold their angle. THIS IS THE ONLY ONE that I am absolutely happy with. The arm comfortably stretches right up to the lens. And I have a 100mm macro lens + extender + hood. I always use this system handheld and also recommend the M-8 pendicular plate. Ocassionally, I mount this setup on a tripod. BEST bracket I have used so far.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid, flexible positioning, compact Very well made bracket. Works great attached to L-bracket on camera. Good for macro, portrait, and telephoto wildlife work using better beamer. Folds up very compact for storage. Very stable even with large speedlite and modifier like a small softbox. Offers nearly unlimited positioning options. Would rate it 5 stars if it were not overpriced for what it is. This should cost under $100, but it seemed to be the only thing that would do what I needed from a bracket...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Great quality materials with some metal and plastics parts which is rather heavy if your travelling. Perfect when working in difficult environment and for vertical shots. I don't need the M-8 plate for the moment as I don't use the F-2 with the camera on a tripod. Mounted on an Jobu Body plate 2 that allow the bracket to be mounted in two positions. Used with D750 and Nikon 105 2.8 afd, SB-700 & DIY softbox.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality product I use this for macro photography. It's a little bit clumsy to set up but once adjusted it's rock solid.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile flash bracket I have always struggled getting my flash positioned for macro photography. This flash bracket has solved that problem. It is extremely versatile, it clamps securely to the tripod collar RRS plate. If using with a lens without a collar, I clamp it to a nodal slide attached to the camera. Works well on or off a tripod. I am thinking about buying another to position two flashes.
