Cable Switch 205 (Cable Release) - 1.6' (50cm) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great to use with bulb mode I bought this Pentax cable release some months ago and I finally had the time to do some practise with it. It is great with bulb mode. I used a tripod and switched off all the lights in the kitchen except for one very low, warm light and practised with different exposure times. I was delighted with the results. It's so much easier than having to keep the shutter open by pressing the shutter release button on the camera. I have a slight tremor and the tripod alone was not enough for night photography using the bulb mode. The cable switch prevents camera shake when using B mode but it's also good to use with other long exposure settings. It connects to the cable release terminal of your camera and is very easy to use. It's also very light and small so it fits easily into your camera bag. I'm very happy with it and I can see I will be using it a lot.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very poor construction This item was very subpar for Pentax I have been a Pentax user for over 30 Years .And have always been happy with dursbility of pentax products. This item was terrible, wires constantly breaking inside insulation making switch unusable I have gone through two as has my wife .I am looking for a cable switch made by someone else before I buy again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love Pentax I use the cable release for macro and all tripod shots, makes for all around better pictures. It works exactly like it is supposed to, I really have no serious complaints. It is a little bigger than I am used to, I have always used the one for my Pentax PZ-1 and it is a lot smaller and seems a little better built than the 205, but things are always changing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Expensive - but it works so far! I have a pentax K30 and regularly use the exposure bracketing function with the camera mounted on a tripod to take HDR photos. Frustratingly, the K30 doesn't allow bracketed photos to be taken with the wireless remote; but it can be done with a cable remote. I previously bought two third-party cable remotes for around $10 each but they were poorly made and worked intermittently from the outset. So I forked out $$ for Pentax's own remote. When it arrived, I must admit that it didn't appear or feel much better quality than the previous ones. However, so far it is working fine which is the main thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cable Switch works well I lost my cable switch at Lake Hefner while shooting lightning events. So I had to order a new one before my next night time photo class. .... It worked well I have had no problems with it.All my shots are sharp and clear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use Very useful when taking shots with long exposure times as it keeps the camera movement to a bare minimum and used in conjuction with the timer the camera remains steady while the timer takes effect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Thumbs Up This is the first cable switch I've owned, so I have nothing to compare it to. However, the few times I've used it so far, I thought the cable felt solid and it's certainly easy to use. Perhaps the cable could be longer, as some have suggested, but I won't know that until I use it more. It's something I wanted to purchase for a long time. I'm happy with it. I give it a thumbs up!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The worst pentax product! The shutter switch just gone broke the other day. The 'click then move' mechanism for the long shutter switch wasn't smooth; it was difficult to use for a long-shutter photography anyway!
