Short fuzzy stays out of view for wides. Very effective for managing wind interference.

A great windscreen

I originally bought the 7 windscreen for my Canon XF705, but when I traded up to the XF605 I realized that the 7 was too long and bought the 4.7. I took it on a trip to Botswana and man was it good. Really caught the background sound while cutting out the wind. If you shoot video this is a must have accessory.

Will this work with the Sennheiser 416 and a shock

Will this work with the Sennheiser 416 and a shock mount? I.e., does the shock mount have enough space beyond the windjammer?

The Rycote Standard Hole Classic Softie Wind-Screen (5.9" Long, 0.7 to 0.8" Diameter Hole, Gray), BH # RYS15M is too short for the Sennheiser MKH 416 Shotgun Microphone. Instead, you will need the Rycote Standard Hole Classic Softie Wind-Screen (7" Long, 0.7 to 0.8" Diameter Hole, Gray), which is BH # RYS18M. The Rycote Softie will fit on the microphone when it is used together with a shock mount.

The Rycote Standard Hole Classic Softie Wind-Screen (12.5" Long, 0.7 to 0.8" Diameter Hole, Gray) is made for the Audio-Technica AT 8015 shotgun microphone, but would fit on the Audio-Technica AT 8035. Please be aware that this windscreen would only leave about two inches of the mic exposed for a shock mount or mic clip. I would recommend the Rycote Standard Hole Classic Softie Wind-Screen (9.4" Long, 0.7 to 0.8" Diameter Hole, Gray) BH # RYS24M, which is a better fit!
