PowerTank 7-Amp 12 VDC Power Supply is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 39.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must for outdoor sky watchers This product is a must for anyone using his or she's telescope outside home or in a remote location. full of versatile options. i used it so far for two continues hours as i bought it new few days ago. The light ( need charging didn't light up ) that's a very good star . i used it for my Meade LS8 . It's torch light is so handy and powerful to light up the dark night while walking to your location or even during emergency . Two USB ports ready to charge any compatible device plus two cigarette lighter input plugs . Compact power tank. easy to operate . it's plastic appears well made unlike some other unbranded mobile power supply. very useful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works - better than buying batteries I'm not a power user (excuse the pun) but this bargain of a power supply is working well for me. I like that I can use this to charge USB devices, see in the dark, signal for help, power my telescope and jump start my car if I need it. I've read that you can power a NexStar SE telescope mount for about 7 hours with this thing. I don't know about that since I haven't done an all night star gazing, but I'm sure it's plenty of power for what I enjoy doing. The directions said to charge it overnight before the first use but it was already fully charged. I also read not to overcharge it so I just started using it. So far, so good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent accessory for my Nexstar telescope I bought this along with my Celestron 102SLT. It is a great addition, a must-have in my opinion. First off, it's a solid general purpose battery pack to be used far beyond powering the telescope (think hurricane-related power outages on the East Coast...), with a powerful built-in flash light. For use with the telescope, it provides a worry-free multi-hour power source, and I have not had to deal with changing the many batteries I would otherwise have to put into the mount (and constantly wonder when they would give out). The red light is also great during viewing sessions, although a handheld or head lamp are still better (much easier to point where you need them). Overall I'm happy with the purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beware of missing parts The unit itself is great. Plenty of charge to power my Nexstar Goto Scope for several nights of viewing. It also includes the 12V car adapter to go from the battery to the scope. Powerfull spot light and smaller work light with red lens are helpfull. I did however have a problem with my first unit because the universal AC adapter included for charging the battery was missing the prongs that allow you to plus it into the wall. Celestron designed the adapter so that you could clip on a variety of different prongs in order to be able to use it around the world. My box was however missing those prongs. B&H management resolved the problem to my satisfaction. Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have! This is a must have for computerized telescopes. Without this running my 6SE would have been very costly, as it requires 8 AA batteries. They have to be alkaline (@ 1.5v each), rechargeable batteries (@ 1.2v each) are not powerful enough (total 12v required for 6SE). I use AA even when I am using this power tank. If for any reason the power tank gets disconnected I do not lose any of my settings or sky-alignment. The scope only uses batteries when power tank is not connected.I did find the charging lights on this to be very misleading. Fully charged light comes on within two hours of charging, whereas charging can take up to 15 hours. However, I let it charge for 15 hours despite the misleading lights and in operation there have been no issues. I get many hours of viewing on a single charge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more power concerns Since i charged up my scope, i use it 4 times for approximately 3 hours each, and the scope still runs smoothly. With rechargable battery i get 3hrs smooth running before battery starts dying on me. Besides eyepieces best accessory for your scope. I like that it not only power but have all the other features that are quite useful, flashlights etc.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great power source for 12 volt equipment This is a versatile and very inexpensive power tank. I was able to use it out of the box with only a few hours charge and it worked well for about 6 hours of stargazing and never lost charge. Absolutely a must have for anyone who does astrophotography.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Money saver! The power tank has worked reliably and eliminated the need for replacing batteries for the telescope and accessories. I can get two or three nights out of it before recharging. The other nifty feature is that one can jump an automobile if need be! All in all a great tool for a telescope power supply. The RED flashlight is handy, although a bit bright. Used the powertank to charge our cell phones when power was lost in the house The charge holds up well and I have found it to be trouble free.
