    K-Tek KEG-100CC reviews

KEG-100CC Avalon Series Graphite Boompole with Internal Coiled XLR Cable is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent light weight boom pole I was a little weary buying this as I thought coughing up more bucks for a carbon fiber pole might be the better way to go, but I'm pleasantly surprised at how light this one is already. I mix and boom a lot of projects on my own and this pole has been a life saver--it's hard to imagine anything lighter. If I have a complaint it's that it can be a bit noisy if sliding fingers along the pole, but you shouldn't be doing that while working anyway.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good This is a very well made boompole. The only two issues iI have with it are the bottom XLR connection and the lack of any case. However, because I got it on sale, I can deal with that (keep on reading). The bottom connection is inconvenient if you have to rest the end of boompole on the ground from time to time during a shoot. So, here is what you need to do: get an angled XLR cable like Kopul M4001.5RC that is also available from B&H. For the case you want a hardshell one, but K-Tek charges an outrageous price for it, so what I suggest is Cavision's Boompole Single Tube Carry Bag model SC804S that you can get for less than $25. It fits very snuggly and it is a hardshell to boot! Enjoy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice. Just somewhat flimsy Use for indy filming and indy work + tutorial videos. Extends nice and long. Lightweight! Compact is key for me. Can get this down to size quick and easy. Only a couple feet long and very light to carry. The only 2 problems I have is that it feels somewhat flimsy, AND you can hear the cord inside. Seems to not be padded down! If you shake the pole you can hear it bouncing around inside. Not too hard to work around, but can cause noise which is no good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, sturdy product We are a youth media organization, so our equipment gets heavy use by many inexperienced hands. This boompole is perfect for us. It's incredibly sturdy with few moving parts. The sections lock into place securely and the internally coiled XLR cable makes boom pole shoots SO much easier!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Boom I use the boom for documentary. The internally coiled XLR really makes boom pole shots easier but it can create some noise when you move fast or quickly rotate the boom. The size is perfect for me in every situation inside and outside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from lightweight and durable excellent, durable and lightweight. The internal cord makes this even easier to use. Even with the pole extended all the way it is not as heavy as other poles I've used.
