Nikon HK-30 Overview

Lens hoods are primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. In addition, since the end of the lens is extended, you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact.

Dedicated lens hoods are designed to match the specific focal length of the lens it was designed for.

Hello, will this hood fit the Nikon AF-S 300 f/2.8d ED ( the first AF-S version of the 300 f/2.8) non VR lens?
Asked by: Kip
According to Nikon's listing of this item on their website, the HK-30 hood is only compatible with the VR and VR II versions of the 300mm f/2.8. Unfortunately, we do not carry the HK-22 or HK-26 hoods which are compatible with older versions of the lens.
