The DK 17 eye piece on its own it's OK, but if you want to pair it with the DK 19 rubber cup it fails to deliver a secure and easy to install equipment set. The rubber cup easily comes off the eye piece, and the eye piece eventually comes off the the thread on the camera viewfinder holding. This is my second tine replacing the set and it's my understanding thst this is a common problem.

No, the Nikon DK-17 Eyepiece is not compatible with the Nikon F2. This camera came with the DP-E3 or DP-E12 prism which is compatible with the Nikon photometric DI-1eyepiece and Nikon Finder Eyepiece for F, F2, F3 & F3AF Cameras. Both items are discontinued and rarely find as Used products.
