No, the Nikon DK-17 Eyepiece is not compatible with the Nikon F2. This camera came with the DP-E3 or DP-E12 prism which is compatible with the Nikon photometric DI-1eyepiece and Nikon Finder Eyepiece for F, F2, F3 & F3AF Cameras. Both items are discontinued and rarely find as Used products.

Does this piece come with the glass insert as well?

Yes it does, but if you need diopter correction you will have to order a different item and you will have to know what correction you need.In other words, this is for older cameras which do not have internal correction adjustment so if you need correction, this will not provide it.
