Nikon DK-17C overview

  • 1Description

The Nikon DK-17C +2.0 Correction Eyepiece is a replacement eyepiece for select Nikon SLR and DSLR cameras. This eyepiece helps to compensate for farsighted vision. Made from soft and durable rubber, the surface of this DK-17C Correction Eyepiece provides a comfortable surface for the area around your eye while framing a subject through the camera's viewfinder. It also serves to block unwanted and potentially distracting light from entering the viewfinder. The DK-17C +2.0 Correction Eyepiece mounts easily and securely to the viewfinder and is compatible with select Nikon cameras.

To determine which Nikon diopter is best suited for you, it is recommended to consult your eye care professional. Nikon SLR and DSLR cameras without built-in adjustable eyepiece correction have a base diopter value of -1. -1 is considered the optimum starting point for the majority of SLR or DSLR users with normal vision. No combination of that -1 base value and a diopter's value is required to arrive at the final desired value. In other words, if you require a diopter of +2, simply add a +2 diopter to your camera.

Nikon DK-17C reviews

DK-17C +2.0 Correction Eyepiece is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Been shooting to long? Strained, tired eyes can also benefit I have a D3, D4, D4s and a D810 which this was purchased for. Buying the Dk-17C +2.0 correction eyepiece is one of the first things I do when I buy a new camera. I do not wear glasses or contacts, but by the end of the day my eyes are strained. The Nikon DK-17C eyepiece is just enough to bring the focal point back into the sharpness of the early morning when I had a fresh pair of eyes! Hopefully fellow photographers know what I mean :-) Easy to replace the standard Nikon eyepiece. Basically flat ( not cup-like) so its very natural feeling. Worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vision Imperative If you have a deficiency in vision and do not use a corrective eyepiece your work will show a deficiency. This eyepiece helps see things more clearly. Especially important if you use Zeiss primes that are not autofocus and need to pull your own focus. Or if you have an autofocus lens it's great to have that reassurance that the depth of field carried your focus. Moments in life do not repeat themselves very often. Be sure to capture them and not worry you got it. This comes in different corrective measures get the one that fits best for you. NOTE: Be sure to close the eyepiece lever or the system may not let you unscrew the eyepiece. It is a pro-causation to help keep dirt out of your system. The lever unlocks eyepiece when shut.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Prefect Addition for Bad Eyes! I'm far sighted and the DK-17C was a perfect addition to my D3 since I hate wearing my glasses when I shot. I can now easily adjust for my poor eyes as they change during the day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Must For Those Not Gifted With 20/20 Vision! Why did I wait so long to admit that this would benefit me? At the age of 40, 13 yrs. ago, I stopped fooling myself and bought a pair of reading glasses so that I didn't have to squint to read the paper. Those glasses brought my eyesight back to perfection. Now that I have purchased some lenses from B&H to capture some landscapes, (Nikon 20mm 1.8G and Sigma 50mm 1.4 Art), I knew that it was time to do some manual focusing. Since my stock diopter was on its' last click, I gave in again and purchased this +2.0 correction eyepiece. After calibration, I am now at the middle of clicks and I ask myself, 1. How accurate has my focusing techniques been the past year?2. How much better could my pictures have been if I purchased this sooner?3. Why didn't I buy this sooner? This was, by far the best $$ that I've spent on my photographic needs!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An easy fix. It is very easy to unscrew the camera's original eyepiece and replace it with the DK-17C+2, without having to use any special tools. The DK-17C+2 is a simple , easy way to extend the camera's adjustible diopter eyepiece for those who wear corrective eyeglasses.or those that are unable to have enough adjutment of the original eyepiece to obtain a clear image. Well worth the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from replaces glasses Indispensable product if the diopter adjustment on your camera doesn't deliver enough of correction any more.... Simple to install.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just What The Eye Doctor Ordered My camera viewfinder correction knob has been on the last stop on the plus side for a while now. With this eyepiece installed I now have plenty of additional corrective clicks on the plus side of the dial.
