Great paper for art prints and more

I have been hoping that Epson would produce a semimatte fine art paper that was worth using. This is not it. This might be the ugliest paper I have ever used. Drab, lifeless and much more matte than expected. I wasted my money. Plan on just giving it away.

Print was good, but printer was terrible

I have an Epson P900 17 wide printer. I hand cut the paper with a square. However, because of the curve of the paper, it would not load. I used the front load, fine art tray and the first sheet crumpled in the printer. I used the rear load, also failed to load. I do not have the attachment for roll paper - although the curve of the rolled paper would likely be a problem there, as well. We finally wrapped it in a reverse curve around a piece of pvc pipe and got it pretty flat. It again failed in the front and rear load. With my husbands help, lifting the feeder gently, we were able to get a print. The print looked great and the paper was great - the printer was the problem. Just be aware of the heavy curvature of the rolled paper.

I tried a bunch of papers when I first started making my own inkjet prints. I settled on USFAP and have never regretted it. The paper has a brilliance and color fidelity that you can depend on. You can't do better.

If one were to print images with white snow, will the snow look white, or off-white/ivory/creamy? If it's not white, do you have a recommendation?

The Epson UltraSmooth Fine Art Archival Photo Inkjet Paper is not a pure white. It is a natural white which is virtually the same as pure white as seen by the human eye. If you want a pure white, the Cold Press Bright might be a better option: https://bhpho.to/34jdMc4
