Rolls MX122 overview

  • 1Description

The Rolls MX122 MiniMix Pro is a compact and reliable five-channel audio mixer. It's suitable for musicians who need to mix stereo keyboards, sound modules, and other line-level sources with a single microphone.

Channel 1 is a dedicated microphone input with a 3-pin XLR connector and a mic trim pot. Channels 2 through 5 feature 1/4" inputs divided into stereo pairs, though they can also accept mono signals.

Two 1/4" outputs are provided on the rear panel for stereo connections, but you can also monitor with headphones using the front panel jacks. For this purpose, a 1/4" and a 3.5mm output are supplied. Master output knobs are supplied for overall level and phone/aux level. With this mixer, you can combine a microphone signal with four stereo or mono signals, with level and pan controls over each channel. A power supply is included.

Microphone Input
Channel 1 features a XLR microphone input with 12VDC phantom power, selectable via the phantom power jumper on the rear of the unit.
Stereo Line Inputs
Channels 2 through 5 utilize stereo 1/4" phone inputs, and the right input is used for mono signals.
Flexible Outputs
The main outputs are featured on stereo 1/4" phone connections. Dual headphone outputs feature 1/4" phone and 3.5mm stereo connections for monitoring. The secondary headphone output may be used as an auxiliary stereo output with level control.
Level and Pan Controls
All input channels feature level and pan controls (stereo controls for 1/4" input sections).

    Rolls MX122 reviews

MX122 MiniMix Pro - Audio Mixer is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple little mixer I'm using this as an installed utility mixer for a club. It doesn't come with rack brackets, so I had to make my own (the unit is exactly 1U high). It's somewhat pricey what it does (you can get fully-featured mixer for not much more). In my application, the simplicity is a feature. If you want a small mixer that doesn't give inexperienced users (local DJ's) many ways to destroy an unattended system, this is a good way to go. The 'balanced' output isn't really balanced (only the hot side is driven), but if you have a short cable run and decent levels, that shouldn't really be a turn-off. Also, the inputs are all unbalanced. The phantom power out is only 12 VDC, which is a little on the low side. It seems sufficiently sturdy, has a decent feel on the controls, and reasonable gain. Overall, it does what it says. I'm pretty happy with it, and would use it again in a similar application.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Mixer For The Job, Solid Build I was in the market for a mini mixer and was looking at the Roland M-10MX, dissapointly it had been discontinued and was difficult or too expensive to purchase. Luckily enough for me I stumbled across this mixer, the Rolls MX122. I am using it to connect multiple live electronic musical instruments and it does the job perfectly. The panning ability is also useful. And more than enough inputs for what I need.
