Would this melt from the heat if it were put on work lights?
Well work lights get extremely hot but this set of barn doors are made of metal. So no, they will not melt but they could burn the HELL out of you if you're not careful.

Are these supposed to be made to fit 7 reflectors? Like on Dynalites?
Yes. Dynalite designed their heads to do just this. BUT THIS barndoor will NOT fit the Dynalite head because Lowel re-designed it so now it will not work on the Dynalite head. What you want to buy is an old barndoor on say eBay. What you are looking for is a barndoor frame (the square box) that measures from front to back 2 . On the new barndoors this measurement is 1 .
