Celestron Ultima 80 Overview

The angled-viewing Ultima 80 3.1"/80mm Spotting Scope Kit from Celestron features a prismatic spotting scope with an 80mm objective.

All models in the Ultima line are mated to an eyepiece and render views that are both right side up and laterally correct to the world, making them good for both terrestrial and celestial observing. All Ultimas are waterproof, making them more robust than ever before. Celestron surely is delivering exceptional value.

The Ultima line offers the choice between 45° angled viewing or straight viewing. Most users will prefer angled scopes because they are both simple to use for birds perched high above the viewer, as well as easily shared among users of differing heights. But some will prefer the straight-through viewing models, for these are much easier to use when hunting down the object of interest in the first place. Straight-viewing models are also usually a bit lighter, brighter, and less expensive. The choice is yours.

Certain Celestron products include their "No Fault" warranty coverage, which assures that your spotting scope will be repaired or replaced at Celestron's option for as long as you own it, no questions asked!  The only requirement on the user's end is to ship the spotting scope (at the user's cost) to Celestron, with proof of purchase and a check or money order for $25 to cover the costs of inspection, shipping, and handling.  This warranty service is valid only for USA and Canadian citizens purchasing from an authorized Celestron dealer.

Built-In T-Mount Threading for SLR Shooting
The angled-viewing Celestron Ultima series feature a T-mount threading upon the eyepiece barrel, allowing your scope to act as an ultratelephoto lens for your SLR camera (digital or film) with just the addition of a camera-specific T-mount adapter.

Celestron Ultima 80 Reviews

optics are ok, lacks convenience features & lens cap broke

i replaced this with with a Vortex Diamondback HD 16-48x65 which is so much nicer & B&H's price was GREAT! this scope is big & bulky, but light for it's size. while the magnification goes to 60x, it's soft at max zoom. where this scope is really lacking is quality & features. the lens cap is hard plastic and the latch broke almost immediately. the eyepiece cap is ok. the eye cup is cheap and sometimes comes off with the cap. neither cap is retained, so they are easy to misplace or drop in the dirt - not ideal. the tripod shoe doesn't rotate and isn't arca swiss compatible without an adapter plate. i can't recommend it. it's a poor valu. the vortex is better in every way

Excellent quality

What is a good carry pack for this scope- like a Slingshot 250?
Asked by: Steve
Yes the Lowepro Slingshot Edge 250 AW would work fine. You will just have to move around the inserts to make it fit the scope. You should have room for other things as well. This is the B&H part number on our website for the bag BH #LOSSE250.

You will need an optional T-Ring (T Mount) for your Nikon DSLR camera to attach to the spotting scope's T-threads located at the top of the eyepiece under the rubber eyecup.

could you see clearly .224 holes on your target at 1000 yards?
Asked by: Giles
At 1,000 yards, all bullet holes will appear small. With the Ultima 80, you will most likely see the target, but .224 holes will be more of a challenge. Your best choice is to use a larger aperture spotting scope such as the Celestron C-5 or a C-90. Sincerely, Garrett at Celestron
