Rycote BBG Reviews
Ryote excels
You can't go wrong with Rycote man, it just works. Rycote is who you go with when you want the piece of mind, they're the Kleenex of windprotection for a reason. Its well made and I trust it'll stay in perfect condition for years to come. I used it to do some recordings this weekend, it did just the right amount of attenuation for a light breeze outside, while maintaining transparency.
Works great
I got an AT8022 to record soundscapes. Naturally I needed some wind protection and decided to invest in Rycote, with an eye to possible upgrade my wind protection for a shotgun mic I also use. I haven’t used the item on its own - only with the additional fuzzy cover so I can’t review the effectiveness of this item alone. However, it fits snugly on the at8022. It’s also bigger than you think it is but it makes sense once fitted. It isn’t super solid but that helps keep the weight low and we should be treating our equipment with care, anyway, so I don’t see this as a problem.
