question

Can I use a 60W replacement LED bulb rated at 800 lumens with a DSLR camera and get good results to digitize 35mm slides?
Asked by: Gary S.
Concerning the Logan slide sorter, absolutely you can use a 60W-rated LED bulb instead of an incandescent bulb. In fact that's the first thing I did with mine and it works beautifully. Generates much less heat, too. With LED, you have (at least) two flavors , daylight and white light. I use daylight.

question

what type of lighting to review slides does this call for?
Asked by: Anonymous
A small incandescent bulb. I started with 25 watt but changed to a fluorescent bulb to avoid heat build-up. Works quite well.

Watage required?
Asked by: George
I used a 40-watt bulb. Was plenty bright enough. This doesn't magnify the slides so I simply used it to see what slides I wanted to scan and which I could get rid of.
