I am new to audio recording. I heard this ...
I am new to audio recording. I heard this requires phantom power. is phantom power the same for most audio recorders? Specifically, I have a Zoom H6. would all I need to do to make the Countryman lapel work is turn on Phantom Power? Or does it require another purchase to give it power?
You are correct that it needs Phantom power. The H6 - and most other recorders that spot an XLR mic input - will provide Phantom power and no additional hardware will be required to power this mic.

question
Any idea of the cable length on this? It's not mentioned in the specs.
I measured from the base of the XLR input and the base of the mic and the wire is 58 long. Hope this helps. Thanks...

Any opinions on the Shelved versus Peak frequency ...
Any opinions on the Shelved versus Peak frequency response? Do you find this version works okay behind clothes? Most of what I do will be behind clothes, but not always a lot of clothes. I don't want to buy a mic for every situation. In your opinions is it better to record with shelved and add EQ to the high-end later (if needed) or to record peaked and pull back EQ if needed?
Countryman describes the difference as follows:
"Shelved for normal lavalier use, peaked for use behind clothing."
Based on what you wrote you may be better off getting the peaked - as "most" is behind clothes - and you can always EQ back when used in situations where it is not under clothing.
It is easier to take out frequencies, than adding missing frequencies.
I hope this helps
