This 18 x 24" Open End Double Scrim from Matthews is an essential component to a complete grip kit, giving one the total creative flexibility of precise light manipulation. This stainless steel frame features two layers of Black Bobinett lighting control fabric to reduce the intensity of light in a given area.
This specific frame is equipped with a double layer of Black Bobinett fabric, which reduces the effective illumination of the selected area by a full stop. This is indicated by the red fabric which lines the frame. Light reduction strength can be finely tuned by rotating the scrim, thus increasing the amount of netting light needs to pass through before hitting the subject. All Matthews Open End Scrims are constructed from rigid stainless steel and sport a 3/8" pin for rigging to standard grip heads, with an integrated support that can be used to hang the scrim from a C-stand handle when not in use. A nearly invisible length of piano wire is strung across the open side of the frame in order to effectively modify light by keeping the fabric taught without casting any additional shadows.
