The external mic mounting clamp on my XA45 handle was larger in diameter than the MKE Sennheiser 600 mic, so I purchased a bag of rings to slide on the mic to increase its diameter and the fit is now snug. I have 6 of the rings in one group which is equal in width to the width of the Canon external mic clamp.

This product is a game changer. I use to use tape on my mic or just use a mic stand. This got in the way if the actor was moving. Now I place three o rings in the mic, slide the Sennheiser 416 mic into the mic holder on the camera, and I'm ready to shoot.

Spacers such as the Sanken O-Rings will be required for the NTG-3 and most similar shotgun mics when mounting to a cameras built in mount such as the Canon XA35. These mounts are designed oversized to accommodate a wide variety of mics and mic types.

How exactly do you use these? Do you put one on the mic or multiple? I find no instructions on using them.
They go one on the top of the other till the microphone fits properly inside the camera mount/shock mount you trying to use the microphone with.

It's not a question of fitting the mic, yes it will. It's a question of how tight will camera fit around it. It should work as I only use Rode mics for my Canon and Sony video cameras.
