Rolls RM82 Overview

When you need a space-saving solution for mixing multiple mic/line signals in conference rooms, houses of worship, or small-scale concert venues, consider the 1 RU rack-mountable Rolls RM82 eight-channel mixer. It features eight balanced 3-pin XLR microphone inputs with individually selectable 48 VDC phantom power to accommodate dynamic or condenser microphones. Plus, its eight unbalanced 1/4" TS inputs offer easy connectivity for line-level inputs or may be configured to function as inserts (for external processing) or direct outputs (for routing to a multitrack recorder). A mono RCA auxilliary input accepts an additional line input.

Adjustable trim, level knobs, and treble/bass cut circuits on each channel allow simple and efficient mixing control from the front panel. The summed mono output is fed through a master level control to a rear-panel XLR male connector. Plug the RCA output into an audio recorder to preserve a dedicated mix signal that is independent of the master level.

Eight balanced microphone inputs via 3-pin XLR female sockets
Eight unbalanced line inputs via 1/4" TS jacks
Each line input can be internally jumpered to function as a channel insert or direct output
Per-channel tone control cuts up to 12 dB of treble (above 6 kHz) or bass (below 200 Hz)
Adjustable trim and level on each channel
Line-level XLR main output can be switched internally to output mic-level signal
Ninth unbalanced input via mono RCA aux input jack
RCA pre-fader output is independent of the master level control
Connect the RCA pre-fader output to the RCA aux input of a second RM82 (available separately) to enable master level control of both devices from the first RM82
Dedicated power switch and LED power indicator
Rack-mountable enclosure occupies just 1 RU of rack space

Rolls RM82 Reviews

Good, but not reliable.

These work well until they don’t. I installed three, two are fine, the third failed after a year. Sent it in for repair but it’s not back yet. It may be a fluke failure but other gear I install has had far lower failure rates.

How do I hook up a piano mic( power mic) to mixer (RM82)?

if you are talking about a condenser mic that requires phantom power, you have phantom power available on the mixer just make sure it is witched on.

question

wattage per channel?

This is not a powered mixer, so it can't drive speakers directly.

Is the "direct out" before or after any trim/gain adjustment? Looking to boost 8 mic signals to 8 line level. Will this do it?
Asked by: M
The direct output on the Rolls RM82 8-Channel Mic/Line Mixer is taken immediately after the preamp stage, before any signal processing or adjustments.

question

Hello, on the rear panel of the device is mentioned that power supply is 120V AC 50/60Hz but in Europe supply is 220V AC 60Hz.Can we connect this device on European power supply? Usually product that comes from USA have both 110/220V AC power supply.Thank you
Asked by: Ivan F.
It doesn't look like the RM82 has a universal power supply. It looks like a 110V linear supply.
