This Whirlwind Medusa Mini Series 6 6-Channel Snake is a snake cable with a heavy-duty, low-profile "mini" steel stagebox at one end and a fanout at the other end. The box features six, clearly labeled side-mounted XLR-F input connectors and fits into many places where a traditional box would be too bulky. This snake is not equipped with returns.
The fanouts feature genuine Whirlwind connectors. Mic channels are clearly numbered and XLR male connectors are lettered by engraving the metal barrel with large, easy-to-read graphics.
The cabling consists of heavy-duty, flexible Belden CM-rated multipair cables. Each pair contains two twisted 24GA 7x32 polyethylene insulated conductors with 100% foil shield and 24GA drain wire.
Snake cables make it possible to combine several balanced cables into one smaller diameter multipair cable, making setup and teardown much faster and easier, with less tangling and clutter than would otherwise be the case.
