    Nikon F6 reviews

F6 35mm SLR Autofocus Camera Body is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 47.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Film Camera I purchased this camera because I still use film and have a personal darkroom in which to express my creativity. I already own the F100 which is a great camera in its own right, but the F6 is on a different level. The camera feels solid in your hands and is very easy to hold. I find that the custom settings further personalize the camera to my individual taste. A 3D matrix metering system coupled with an adaptable autofocus array makes this what many have called the last great film camera. I hope that this is not the case, but I'm very pleased to own this camera.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Ultimate Film Camera! I am absolutely pleased with my Nikon F6 I must admit I am still learning to take the most advantage of the capabilities of this outstanding camera but I am really enjoying the results. If you still appreciate Film (the old style photography) and you are either a professional or someone willing to invest the time and effort involved in taking great film pictures, this is the camera to own. This is the best tool to capture those forever moments, the results are up to your skill and luck. (Luck because hey! this is not digital, you cannot take thousands of pictures at once and then pick the best ones)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Totally Impressed - Awesome Film Camera The apex of film cameras that works with all modern flash units and lenses, VR included. Heavy, yes... does it inspire confidence? Definitely. The menus are a little obtuse at first, but once everything is set, you will rarely have to go back to them. This camera just does not get in the way. It is making my sojourn back to black and white film a pure pleasure, a fitting camera as a mate to my Nikon D4. Get one while they last! AND PLEASE... Don't say Film is Dead. Nothing is further from the truth as millions start to realize the digital lie.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The king of film camera I am using this camera since 2005 and I am very pleased with it. It helped me produces very great fine art photographs. Combined with high quality lenses, a velvia slide film, and a good tripod, this camera will let digital fans rethink about their images quality. Problems Encountered: Make sure you update its software as its battery life has problem in term of consuming period. Once I update it, the battery life became so good. Previous Equivalent Items Owned: Canon cameras Items I Recommend: slide film and its cable release

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nikon with Leica feel This is a camera that can bust your creativity. It gives confidence just leica can, and and more. It will not add shake to your hands. I use it as all manual camera, but all autos are there if need, never know. It has all professional photog need to complete top responsible assignment. Very positive experience in highest demand of pro-photography. The battery (two 123 lithium) last 9-12 mo with camera ON all the time. Previous Equivalent Items Owned: Leicas R8 Items I Recommend: 1.4/85d (AF lens), 2.8/55 ais-micro (or Zeiss)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous camera A camera made to last forever, excellent controls, good grip, very rugged, it feels excellent in your hand. Very silent stutter and film rewind, easy to operate and a pleasure to use it. I use this camera with manual focus Zeiss ZF lens and the results are so good, particularly when shooting slides or the new Kodak Portra NC films, my favorite color film. I added to my kit the Nikon MB-40 Multi-Power Battery Pack which gives excellent battery life and add a pretty nice look to the kit as a whole.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soul Mate I have been shooting with the F6 for a year and a half now and I am completely spoiled by it. Ergonomics, AF accuracy, beautiful Viewfinder, and size are among what makes this 35mm camera the highest expression of the modern SLR. Expertise: Journeyman Problems Encountered: No real problems to speak of Points to consider during operation:1. Mind the AF/MF switch on the bottom left at the front. It can accidentally be brushed and switched to an undesirable setting.2. Keep rewinder knob out while loading a roll of film. Items I Recommend: 50mm f1.8 afd, 20mm f2.8 afd

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It Doesn't Get Any Better Than This This camera, coupled with the AF-S 70-200mm 1:2.8 GII ED lens, is as smart as I would want a camera to be. I also purchased a Nikon D700 to set up the F6 before exposing the film, but that may have been overkill as the F6 nails the exposures so well there is little opportunity for a bad exposure. Even when I did screw up the exposure (on my first roll, Kodak Ektar), there is enough latitude in the Ektar to correct the exposure in Lightroom 2 or Photoshop CS4. I only wish I could have afforded the F6 many years ago -- although it didn't exist then, did it.
