I have a Nikon D800, when I tried to install this ...
I have a Nikon D800, when I tried to install this eyepiece, I was unable to screw it on if I tried to use the metal ring that came in the package. The pictures showing the metal ring are not very detailed, but if I installed as the instructions indicate, then there is not enough thread exposed from the part that screws back on to actually screw back on to the camera. So how exactly does this metal ring fit?
All i remember is it’s tricky but it works. I think the little ring fits into the groove in the rubber eyecup and then you screw the assembly into the eyepiece...I could be wrong. Works the same on all the 800 series....Nikon ought to upgrade that.. once it is on do not take it off...you could lose the little metal ring.. It was years ago that I did mine...not sure I haveThe sequence right....once it is properly installed it is very useful.

If you need to add a round eyepiece onto the Nikon D600 DSLR camera, you would need to purchase the Nikon DK-22 Eyepiece Adapter, B&H # NIEPAN6006, along with the Nikon DK-3 Rubber Eyecup, B&H # NIDK3, and the Nikon Finder Eyepiece for FM, FE & FA Series Cameras (Replacement), B&H # NIEPFM2, to attach the two pieces together for use on the Nikon D600 DSLR camera.
