    Manfrotto 196B-2 reviews

196B-2 Articulated Arm - 2 Sections, With Bracket is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Support I bought this Articulated Arm to help position a small DSLR (a Canon Rebel) for a Photo Booth. The Arm is mounted to a C-Stand using a Super Clamp. For my uses, the 196B worked great. I wouldn't try mounting anything bigger than a hotshoe flash or a small DSLR.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A little short, otherwise OK I use this with a Super Clamp to support a Sony HandyCam. The arm sections are a little shorter than I had hoped (they are 27cm/11in) but not so short to be unusable for my needs. Very easy to set up and use, excellent flexibility for positioning.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cheap, Useful Tool! I use this extender arm with my even cheaper tripod to do document photography. Yes, I am on a budget, and this product was great for that. It is not the easiest piece of equipment to set up -- requires some fiddling and is a bit clunky -- but it's small and light, and once I got it together the way I wanted, it held my camera reliably, so neither the camera nor the expensive glass negatives it was suspended over were harmed. It is also quite adjustable, which was very nice. Great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great product I am using this with a wall mount boom arm to position a camcorder above a workbench for educational videos. This allows me any position I want from the camcorder. Great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile and Well Made ! Manfrotto products and accessories, in my opinion, are always well designed and well made. These arms are no exception. I have two of them. They offer vastly improved flexibility in light positioning and are very durable and well made. Makes it very easy to add and position one of your Speedlites for a hair or rim light without having to constantly move the stand around. Not quite as far reaching as a boom, but much more compact and lighter. Folds up quite nicely and compact.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Useful I use this arm and super clamp to mount an LCD monitor to my tripod. Some shoots are tight and there's no room for a light stand. This allows my producer to check the shot on a cramped shoot. I've also used it to mic a room from a lamp post. Not too heavy but feels solid.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sturdy enough...barely I used this to get additional height in a precarious water environment and the arm successfully held a smaller DSLR at angles. I wouldn't trust it fully elongated with motion (swaying) involved, but it held up fine when slightly retracted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! I used this recently to mount a small camera on stage during a concert and it worked fabulously. I also used it to mount a small light during a quick interview shoot. It's been flawless so far!
