Octaplus Fixed Light Bank (3') is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wide Coverage and Even Illumination I am using the Octaplus Fixed Light Bank (actually a medium-large octagonal soft box) with two Canon 600EX-RT Speedlites that are mounted on a Chimera Dual Versi Octa Speed Ring from B&H. Light is exceptionally even and broad. The larger the light source, the softer the shadows; the light is said to wrap around the subject. The Octaplus Fixed Light Bank produces very soft shadows, especially when placed as close as possible to the subject. Ideal for my preferences in most cases. Even with shoe-mount flashes rather than a large studio strobe it is necessary to dial down flash power.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful, soft, luscious light Absolutely love the quality of light from the 3' version. Will probably buy the 7' as well. I've had it for 5 years and it holds up well to the rigors of the road. Takes a little while to set up, but the results are worth it. You can leave the 2 diffusers installed for very quick setup, but I'm too OCD to do that. I'm using it with a Lowel DP light and can't stop drooling over the quality. Green screen work is easy since there is almost no shadow cast from the light. By the time you add the light and ring, it's pricey, but the quality of your work will reflect the investment. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Beauty to Work With, Beautiful Results A surprise is I find it easier to assemble and take down compared to my other Chimera light boxes. However, it's bulkier at the one end when put away because I leave the 2 baffles installed. That convenience makes it worth doing. The fact there's no light spilling outward or on the ceiling is a real plus. The 3' size is ideal for my type of work (mostly individual portraits) but accommodates multiple people just fine. Very even light over the whole front surface. It's heavier. I made my own light stand bracket to not have the flash light head supporting the whole thing. Used scavenged parts of a Stroboframe bracket, drilled new holes, 8-32 UNF allen head machine screws, and existing Foba tube & clamp.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWESOME BOX!! I have used the 5' - 7' Octaplus for 5 years now and love the light from it. This box matches in a smaller size. Works on location in tighter spaces than the 5' Octaplus. Tried out some others and did not find the same quality of light.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Broad coverage in a compact body... This softbank, in conjunction with a triolet and 50 degree soft grid, is just about perfect for close-ups... Easy to use, low-profile... When space is at a premium, it helps to be able to throw in a super soft, self-contained fixture...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product but do your research Like Chimera products the craftsman ship and construction are great. It can be very difficult to take apart and put back together again as the poles become very stiff near the the last one. My advice is to do your research or contact customer service at Chimera (they are very helpful and responsive) Despite the speed ring for my light being Octoplus compatible my light lacked the beam spread to utilize this so i had to return it. Which is a shame since it was a great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the light Chimera no longer requires shorter poles for the Hensel lights. I like this size for my small studio space and the fall off for around the feet works great for my use. This is very well built, and I like the ability to use the grid that I also purchased with this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the light Chimera finally went regular poles with a new speed ring for the Hensel Integra lights. Love the light quality, easy to set up. Works great in my small studio space and love the set up for the grid.
