    Avenger A430 reviews

Roller Stand 43 with Low Base (Chrome-plated, 14') is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value for the money... I like the height, the not too heavy and most every other attribute except the wheels. The wheels are really not very good. Hard to put on and take off. I leave them on in our studio but if it goes on location the wheels come off. I doubt if I would trust putting a Mole Baby on this stand, it isn't up to a Mole Baby stand, but doesn't weigh as much. I might trust an ARRI 650 or 1K but no more. I am looking forward to also using it for a 14' microphone stand and may buy another for that use.All in all pretty good for the money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Studio Stand Excellent for a permanent address, since it doesn't fold under 3' or so, she isn't a traveler. It folds really funny, in a good way, the wheel brackets get angeled, it's fine as the wheels lock to the inside and provide a stable stand kinda folded. The material is perfect, from a perfection point of view, the interior 3 risers coating is less polished then the exterior main column which is more polished, it still kicks all my other stands in the behind. The locks on the wheels are bulldogs, you will not open it easily, you pick if it's a good or a bad thing. I use the baby boom with it, which actually came out to the same money as a 40 extension with the locks and clamps, and are far more sturdier then a home made subsidiary for a boom or hair-light stand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent stands I would rate this stand and the similar A5029 (A420) as 5 stars if all the column tubes were made of steel. Only the lower column tube in this model family is steel, and the extending aluminum tubes are much more flexible. The innermost tube of the A5043 (A430) is less than an inch in diameter, and it requires some care to make sure a given setup is very stable when the stand is extended to 14 feet. For lights or equipment that will placed more than 10 feet above the floor, and that weigh more than a few pounds, or that will be situated outward from the center of the stand, the junior stands might be a better option. The adjustment collars MUST be tightened very securely to prevent the tubes from slipping under load. I like that the rollers are installed optionally by the user. All in all, I like these stands. These are a much better investment than the cheaper, less rigid all-aluminum stands that are so common. The included optional rollers make the small additional cost for these stands over the comparable lazy-leg version very worthwhile.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from good but could be better It's a good stand but if your thinking using it with a d600 boom from avenger, it's not the best thing you can get because of the aluminium sections. It would be great if it was all steel. Good price tho...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sturdy, whell locks a bit complicated A good strong sturdy stand, great value - the wheel locks and unlocks a bit finnicky, but still a great find.
